One of my favorite things to make when it comes to crochet creations is anything that makes me laugh. Even better if it’s a simple pattern that I can whip up in a few hours! This cute little chill pill was so fun to come up with for a friend that needed a little cheering up after a recent surgery. I knew I had to share it with my fellow crochet lovers. It is made with simple stitches, and shouldn’t take you too long to make. You can use whatever color combo you want, and you can customize the face in so many different ways as well. I decided to keep it simple with a pair of blushing cheeks, but you can add any types of personal touches you wish! Let’s get started!

Free Chill Pill Crochet Pattern

You Will Need:

  • 2 colors of 4 weight yarn (you can use a smaller or bigger weight, but that will of course alter the size of your finished piece)
  • 6 MM crochet hook
  • sewing needle
  • optional: stich markers
  • 25 MM Safety Eyes
  • Polyfil

Terms Used:

MC- magic ring

SC- single crochet

INC- increase

DCS- decrease

Chill Pill Crochet Pattern:

Round 1: Make 6 sc into a mr (6)

Round 2: Inc in each stitch (12)

Round 3: SC, Inc around (18)

Round 4: 2 SC, Inc around (24)

Round 5: 3 SC, Inc around (30)

Round 6: 4 SC, Inc around (36)

Round 7: 5 SC, Inc around (42)

Round 8: 6 SC, Inc around (48)

Round 9: 7 SC, Inc around (54)

Round 10: 8 SC, Inc around (60)

Round 11: 9 SC, Inc around (66)

Round 12-22: SC around (66)

**Around row 14 go ahead and add your safety eyes, leave about 6 stiches in between them. You can also go ahead and add your facial features here. I went with some cheek blushes, but you can do whatever you want! A smile would be pretty adorable too.

Round 23: Switch colors and SC around (66)

Round 24-33: SC around (66)

Round 34: 9 SC, Dec (60)

Round 35: 8 SC, Dec (54)

Round 36: 7 SC, Dec (48)

**At this point go ahead and starting stuffing your plush. Add as your continue to work.

Round 37: 6 SC, Dec (42)

Round 38: 5 SC, Dec (36)

Round 39: 4 SC, Dec (30)

Round 40:3 SC, Dec (24)

Round 41:2 SC, Dec (18)

Round 42: 1 SC, Dec (12)

Round 43: 6 DC (6)

Fasten off and leave a small tail for sewing!

Finishing:

Once you have finished your last round you will want to go ahead and using a sewing needle, weave your yarn tail through the back loops of your stitches and pull tight to close your ring. Hide your tail once you close your ring and you’re done!

Didn’t it turn out ADORABLE? Just what the doctor ordered to bring some cheer!
