mocha creamer and iced coffee recipe

I told you on another creamer post that I would make a mocha creamer. I thought it would be done so much sooner then this. I had to try and retry the recipe. The first recipe I tried using cocoa powder. That was too bitter. The next recipe I tried using simple chocolate syrup. To make this with less processing you can make your own chocolate syrup. I sometimes do. But in the essence of time I just bought this one. The creamer that you make has only 3 ingredients. The creamers you buy have almost 15 ingredients and most of them are chemicals. It’s so easy to make this that you’ll be making your own now! I promise. Here’s the recipe for the creamer.

To make my iced coffee here’s what I do. I make it up the day before. My dear husband is always making coffee and I don’t want to be in his way (as he has to get out the door). Plus I like my coffee cold so it doesn’t bother me to make it ahead and use it the next day when it is cold. So I make my coffee (2 heaping tsps coffee and 10 cups of water). My hubby says I like light coffee. I just tell him I can’t drink sludge. LOL He loves his so dark and I think I’m a supertaster so everything is too much for me and it’s never enough for him (did he kill his tastebuds?) LOL. So, brew the day before, let cool, put in a pitcher and set in fridge. Then I add my creamer to my cup first. I probably use 1/10 of what the cup can hold for the creamer. You do to your taste. Then pour coffee over the top to the top. This mixes the creamer and the coffee perfectly so I don’t have to stir. I don’t add ice cubes but you could. Serve and enjoy! Yum! How do you take your coffee? Light or dark? Leave me a comment and let me know.

That’s a great idea! I wonder if I could swap the chocolate out for vanilla! Thanks for sharing this!

Looks really yummy. I love drinks in mason jars. I don’t know why. Maybe the “kitch” factor.

The lighter the better for me – I add so much cream and sugar that it’s almost a dessert.

I’ve heard a medium roast has more caffeine than a darker roast so those drinking their darker coffee thinking it’ll help should opt for a more medium roast if they’re after the caffeine! I’ll have to pass this on to my mom and sister since they’re the coffee drinkers in this house 🙂

Sounds like a little bit of heaven! I started making my own chocolate syrup when I decided to cut out bad carbs like sugar. I’ve pinned this!! I would also love it if you shared with us at The Yuck Stops Here link party! http://yumeating.com/tag/the-yuck-stops-here/
