Summer is the dream. It really is. No homework, no early alarms, no rushing around trying to find a clean lunchbox at 7 a.m. Just sunshine, sweet tea, longer days, and the beautiful chaos of having your kids home all day, every day, for what feels like one million weeks.

At first, it sounds magical.

Sleeping in feels amazing. Pool days are exciting. Popsicles at noon somehow become acceptable. Everyone is happy, and summer break feels like the best idea ever invented.

And then day four hits.

You know the one. The “I’m bored” day. The “there’s nothing to do” day. The day when you’ve already exhausted the pool, the sprinkler, the neighbor’s trampoline, and the last of your creative parenting energy. That’s exactly the day I made this free summer beach coloring page for. Print it, hand it over, and let the crayons do the heavy lifting for a while.

No instructions needed. No supplies to gather. No glue sticks are going missing. Just a fun page filled with sunshine, waves, beach vibes, and all the happy summer things kids love. Sandcastles, sunshine, sea animals, ice cream, and that relaxed beach feeling that somehow makes everyone a little happier.

And of course, your child will probably color half of it purple. Because somehow, everything becomes purple.

Why Kids Will Love It

Coloring is one of those activities that never seems to get old. It feels fun instead of feeling like “something Mom made me do,” which is always a win.

Beach themes are exciting because they instantly feel like summer vacation. Kids love anything that reminds them of sand, sunshine, and water. A beach coloring page gives them all of that without needing sunscreen or towels.

It also gives them complete creative control, which is basically the greatest gift you can offer a child. The sun can be blue. The ocean can be pink. The turtle can absolutely be rainbow-striped. There are no rules here.

That freedom makes coloring feel exciting.

It also works for a wide range of ages. Your little one can happily scribble away while your older child carefully colors every tiny detail, as if they are preparing it for an art gallery showing.

Both are equally valid.

But look at how cute this printable is! Then, right-click and hit the print button so your kids can create something when bored!

Why You Will Love It

  • It is free. As in, it costs nothing. Zero dollars.
  • Print and done! That’s the entire prep process!
  • It keeps little hands busy and little mouths quiet for a solid stretch of time.
  • And unlike slime, paint, or anything involving glitter, the cleanup is basically nothing. Maybe a few crayons on the table. Maybe a marker cap is missing somewhere. Compared to the usual summer messes, that feels like a vacation all by itself.
  • It helps support fine motor skills, creativity, patience, and focus. So while they are happily coloring a beach scene, you get to feel like an amazing parent making educational choices.

And here’s a little bonus for you: coloring is calming. Like, genuinely calming. For them, and honestly for you too, if you want to grab a page and color alongside them. No judgment. It’s summer. We’re all just surviving.

How to Use It

This is almost embarrassingly simple, but here you go:

  • Print the page — black and white is perfect, no color ink needed.
  • Set out some crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
  • Hand it to your child, and enjoy the silence. That is the whole process!
  • Optional: proudly display the finished masterpiece on the fridge where it belongs.

Because nothing says summer memories like a slightly crooked purple sun taped next to your grocery list.

It also travels really well. Just tuck a few copies in your bag before a road trip, a restaurant outing, or any waiting room situation. Pair it with a small pencil pouch of colored pencils, and you have a portable activity kit that requires zero explanation and zero charging.

I hope this printable helps make your summer a little easier, a little quieter, and a lot more fun.

And if you are looking for more ways to keep kids busy without losing your mind, I have plenty more ideas waiting for you.
