Perfect for busy mornings, lunchboxes, or an afternoon pick-me-up, these muffins strike the balance between cozy comfort food and smart nutrition.

Why You’ll Love These Cranberry Orange Muffins

  • ✅ High in protein thanks to Greek yogurt
  • 🍯 Naturally sweetened with honey
  • 🍊 Bright citrus flavor from real orange zest and juice
  • 🫐 Tart cranberries for the perfect flavor contrast
  • 🧁 Moist, fluffy, and bakery-worthy

These muffins are great for meal prep, freeze beautifully, and taste even better the next day.

Protein-Packed Cranberry Orange Muffins Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (or white whole wheat flour)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup melted coconut oil or avocado oil
  • ¼ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix-Ins

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries (roughly chopped) (you can also use your leftover cranberry relish)
  • Optional: ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

How to Make Protein-Packed Cranberry Orange Muffins

Step 1: Preheat & Prep

Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.

Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, honey, eggs, oil, orange juice, zest, and vanilla until smooth.

Step 4: Combine

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the cranberries and nuts if using.

Step 5: Bake

Divide the batter evenly among muffin cups. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Cool & Enjoy

Let muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Tips for the Best Muffins

  • Greek yogurt adds protein and keeps muffins moist — don’t skip it!
  • Use fresh orange zest for maximum citrus flavor.
  • If using frozen cranberries, don’t thaw them first to prevent streaking.
  • For extra protein, you can replace ¼ cup flour with vanilla protein powder.

Storage & Freezing Instructions

  • Store muffins in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days
  • Refrigerate for up to 5 days
  • Freeze for up to 3 months — perfect for make-ahead breakfasts!

Final Thoughts

These Protein-Packed Cranberry Orange Muffins with Yogurt and Honey are proof that baked goods can be both nourishing and delicious. Whether you’re feeding a family or prepping breakfasts for the week, this recipe is a must-try.
