How to Make Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer in Minutes

Because store-bought is overrated and overpriced.

Let’s talk coffee. Specifically, the part that makes it taste like a hug in a mug: the creamer. If you’ve ever stared at the grocery shelf wondering why Italian sweet cream costs more than your actual coffee, I’ve got good news. You can make it at home in five minutes flat—with four ingredients you probably already have.

I’ve been DIY-ing my coffee creamer for years, and this version is creamy, dreamy, and just sweet enough to make you feel like you’ve got your life together (even if you don’t). It’s budget-friendly, customizable, and doesn’t come with a side of mystery ingredients.

☕ Ingredients (Just Four. No weird stuff.)

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ can sweetened condensed milk (about 7 oz) (save the rest for next weeks creamer)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp almond extract

That’s it. No corn syrup. No preservatives. Just creamy goodness.

🥄 How to Make It

  1. Warm the milk slightly in a small saucepan or microwave—just enough to help everything blend. You’re not boiling it, you’re just waking it up.
  2. Add the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Stir until smooth and combined.
  3. Pour into a mason jar or airtight container and refrigerate. It’ll keep for about a week (if it lasts that long). You will have a bit more than fits into a mason jar so make sure you are ready to have some coffee!
  4. Shake before each use, because homemade means no emulsifiers. It’s normal. You’re fancy now.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Want it dairy-free? Use oat milk and coconut condensed milk.
  • Like it sweeter? Add a little more condensed milk.
  • Want to feel like a barista? Froth it before pouring.
  • Prefer less almond flavor? Cut it to ¼ tsp or skip it entirely.

Why You Can Trust This Recipe

  • Experience: I’ve made this creamer more times than I’ve folded laundry. It’s a staple in my kitchen.
  • Expertise: I know what works for busy mornings, picky taste buds, and real-life coffee drinkers.
  • Authoritativeness: My blog is built on practical, family-friendly recipes that are tested, loved, and shared by readers who want flavor without fuss.
  • Trustworthiness: I don’t recommend anything I wouldn’t make myself. This creamer is easy, affordable, and delicious—no gatekeeping here.

So skip the overpriced bottle and make your own Italian sweet cream. Your coffee (and your wallet) will thank you.

Italian Sweet Cream Creamer made at home

How to make Italian Sweet Cream Creamer for your morning coffee

Print Recipe Pin Recipe
Prep Time 4 minutes mins
Servings: 8
Course: Breakfast
Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients Equipment Method

Ingredients

  • 4 c whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (pure)
  • 1/4 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk (save the other half for next weeks creamer)

Equipment

  • 1 4 c pyrex cup
  • 1 washed out creamer container or a quart size mason jar
  • 1 tsp

Method

  1. Add your milk to a pot on the stove. Stir in your creamer, and heat through, Stirring often. You can also do this in the microwave like I did. Just put in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds. Stir often.
  2. Pull off the heat (or out of the microwave) and add your vanilla and almond extract. Stir. Let cool. Pour into a creamer bottle or a quart mason jar. You will have a bit more then fits in either one so make sure you're ready for a cup of coffee!
  3. Refrigerate for 7-10 days (this doesn't last as long as store bought because it doesn't have the fillers in it).
