The long-awaited sequel to the Live-action Monster High is here! After a very mysterious ending scene in the first film, fans were curious to see what adventures our pack of ghouls would move on to next!
Monster High 2 Review
Monster High 2 is a high-energy musical that follows Draculaura, Frankie Stein, and Clawdeen Wolf as they settle in for another clawsome year at Monster High with the goal of creating a safe, welcoming space for all monsters, humans, and creatures alike, but it won’t be easy as everyone tries to solve personal conflicts: Clawdeen wants to follow in the steps of her mother and become a student preceptor, Draculaura wants to make peace in a war between witches and vampires to be able to practice witchcraft freely, and Frankie just want to be the best she can be to help her friends. This is a story full of lessons about friendship, loyalty, honesty, and self-discovery which makes it a great family film for all young ghouls wanting to join the fandom and learn more about Monster High.
We were introduced to some new ghouls like Ellis Ghouled, a witch disguised as a vampire, and Demi Boovais, a human-ghost hybrid. But we are also reintroduced (If you have been following the squad before the G2/3 reboot) to a known troublemaker, Toralei Stripe, who is coming back from Scaris to add a lot of spice to the ghouls’ scaremester! The movie is packed with great, heartfelt songs like “Reason We Got Magic,” “Not How Our Story Goes,” and “Together Forever.” Just like with the first film, there is a very interesting ending scene that suggests our ghouls are not done adventuring, plus, you didn’t think this was
the end, did you?
Being a long time Monster High fan (since 2010), it is great to see that the messages about acceptance and inclusivity are still being upheld in each new release, but Oh my Ra- Deuce belongs with Cleo!!
