My father in law was the best cook. He made all the hams at our Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter meals and they were delicious each and every time. We loved the way he made just about everything he cooked. He was an excellent cook. We lost him last year and it’s left a hole in all of our hearts. One little thing I’m grateful is that I already had started making his ham. So, I have his recipe and it’s a simple recipe for the easiest ham baked in the oven.

Don’t forget to mix it well using a wire whisk if you have one! Get rid of the chunks. You can save 1/2 cup back to baste in the middle of the cooking process. You will need to tent your ham with aluminum foil over the entire ham. So make sure you completely cover it with the aluminum foil.
Put your mustard, brown sugar and coke together in a container and whisk it until all ingredients are blended. Put aluminum tent over ham and bake at 325* for 2 hours and 40 minutes (that was for our ham check the instructions for yours). Let cool on the counter for 40 minutes. Slice and serve.

Ham is such a versatile meat that you can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love that I can utilize it in other recipes. You can also freeze ham if you have too many leftovers. Then pull it out to use again another day using those recipes above. You’re going to love it!
It’s a family favorite at our family get togethers. I love it because it’s so easy and quick to put together. It tastes like I’ve been cooking all day in the kitchen. When the reality is I was in there to put it together, throw it in the oven and then make sure to take it out. We let ours cool for at least 60 minutes before slicing it to eat with dinner.
Add you some rolls then you have breakfast the next morning as well. Ham is one of those foods you can do just about anything with and it will always turn out so good. Just do not forget to tent it or it can burn. No one likes a burned ham.
