Fall is so close to being upon us, and you know what that means…it’s almost crock pot season! Now I know you can of course use your ccrock pot year round, and I do, but during fall/winter my crock pot goes into overtime for sure. I love me a good soup, stew, or pasta. Nothing is better than coming home to a hot meal that has been cooking all down on a crisp fall evening. Plus, dinner is already done when you get home so you don’t have to wait! It’s a true win/win. Pasta is one of my favorite things to make in my crock pot and this crock pot chicken Carbonaro has got to be one of my families favorite. It’s so easy to throw together and is so creamy and yummy! I just knew I had to share it with my fellow cheesy pasta lovers. It has basically no prep works and takes just a few minutes to toss together! Let’s check it out shall we?
Crock Pot Chicken Carbonaro Recipe
Here is what you will need for this Crock Pot Chicken Carbonaro Recipe:
- Chicken Breast (I used about 2 pounds)
- 1 block cream cheese
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 jug chicken broth (32 ounces)
- 1/2 bag frozen peas
- 1 bag shredded parmesan cheese (2 cups)
- 1/2 bag bacon bits
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp garlic
- Pasta of your choice
- seasonings of your choice (I used garlic lovers by Flavor God and a little Slap Yo Mama for spice)
Instructions:
Step 1: First you will want to grab your crock pot and add in all of your ingredients
Step 2: Now it’s dump time! In any order you want go ahead and add all of your ingredients into your crock pot. I told you this was going to be a super quick prep!
Step 3: Set your crock pot on high for 4 hours, or low for 8 hours and let everything cook. Give it a few stirs when you can!
Step 4: In the last 30 minutes or so of cook time, go ahead and cook your pasta of choice. I used Penne because it’s my favorite, but you can use whatever pasta you would like. While your pasta is boiling, go ahead and shred your chicken. I just use a pair of forks and shred it while it’s in the crock pot, it’s super easy that way and you don’t have to dirty up another dish doing it.
Step 5: Once your pasta is cooked to your liking, go ahead and add it to your crock pot. Give it a good stir and let it cook about 15 minutes longer and then it will be ready to serve!
Step 6: Portion it out, top it with a little extra cheese and bacon bits and enjoy your easy dinner!
See? I told you it was going to be quick and easy! It’s such a warm and filling meal and perfect after a long day. It also makes wonderful leftovers for lunch the next day!
