In summer, in recipe that I can make that doesn’t require me turning on the oven and making my house hot is a win in my book. Bonus points if it’s easy to put together and minimal clean up. We are huge fans of trying different types of subs, especially during the summer. This Simple Chopped Italian Subs Recipe requires no oven, minimal prep work, and exactly 1 dish to clean up when you are done. It really couldn’t be any easier! Just pair it with a bag of chips and a cold drink and you have the perfect summer lunch to enjoy by the pool, at the park, or sitting on your couch in the AC. And the beauty of a simple recipe like this is you can customize it any way you want. Want more veggies? Add them! Want a different type of cheese? Switch it out. So many ways to really make it your own. Let’s check out how easy it is to make!

Simple Chopped Italian Subs Recipe

You Will Need:

  • Sub rolls (We toast ours!)
  • 1/2 a red onion
  • 1/2 a head of romaine lettuce
  • 1/3 pound ham
  • 1/3 pound salami
  • 1/3 pound pepperoni
  • about 6 slices cheese (we used colby jack)
  • Italian dressing (to taste)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • Garlic powder (to taste)
  • onion powder (to taste)

Step for making my Simple Chopped Italian Subs

Step 1: Wash all your veggies and gran all other ingredients. On a cutting board lay out all of your meat, cheese, and veggies.

Step 2: Now it’s time to get to chopping. You want to chop everything into small, bite size pieces.

Step 3: Once all of your ingredients are chopped, let’s give them a good mix. If you want, you can add them to a bowl and mix it that way. But I’m all about less dishes so I mix them right on my cutting board!

Step 4: Once everything is well combined, it’s time to add your spices and your dressing. Measure with your heart, and mix again to well combine.

Step :Once you are happy with the amount of dressing you have used, it’s time to assemble, and it couldn’t be any easier! All you need to do is split your sub rolls open (toast them first if you would like, that’s how we do it!) and scoop in your mixture. That’s it, sub assembled!

That’s it ya’ll! In only about 15 minutes and 1 dirty dish you will have a super yummy summer meal that everyone is sure to love! Don’t you love having an easy recipe you can make on hot busy days?
