If there is anything I love when it comes to cooking, it’s finding easy, quick, and delicious recipes that the whole family will love. One of my family’s favorite recipe types are anything appetizers. Sometimes we will just have entire dinners made of just different appetizers. And when it comes to game day or birthday parties, we go all out with the finger foods and appetizers! So when we are wanting to try a new recipe, 9 out of 10 times, we are looking at a new appetizer to add to our rotation. This week I wanted to share with ya’ll one of my newest (and quickly becoming one of our most favorite) recipe, these easy and delicious loaded potato slices recipe. It’s everything you love about a baked potato, but in a bite sized, holdable form. It doesn’t take any more time to make them, and I love the texture of them. And you can customize them in so many different ways, so that’s a bonus for sure. Very little prep time involved in making them as well, and after you add a few bowls of different dipping options, you are ready to party. Let’s check out how to make them shall we?
Easy and Delicious Loaded Potato Slices Recipe
Here is what you will need:
- Potatoes (About 1 medium sized potato per person you are serving)
- olive oil
- Garlic powder (to taste)
- Onion powder (to taste)
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- Shredded cheese
- Bacon bits (optional)
Step 1: First, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a cooking sheet with aluminum foil
Step 2: Cut your potatoes into slices about an inch thick, if you want a crispier potato slice, cut them a little thinner (but the thinner they are, the more “chip” like they will become!)
Step 3: Place your potato slices onto your cooking sheet and coat lightly with oil on both sides.
Step 4: Liberally season your potatoes on both sides
Step 5: Stick your potato slices in your heated oven and bake at 400 degrees F for 30 minutes.
Step 6: Pull your potatoes out and set your oven to the Broil setting.
Step 7: Top your potatoes with a big ole helping of shredded cheese and bacon
Step 8: Stick your potatoes back in the oven under the broil setting and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese becomes bubbly.
And that’s it! Sprinkle a little additional salt and pepper on top and serve with your favorite dip (highly recommend some sour cream and/or ranch dressing) and you are done. I told you guys it was going to be simple and delicious. These are great for game day or any day you need some carb love. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
