Let’s get into the fact that it took them 13 years to do this, shall we? The reality is that James Cameron had a life to live as well as trying to get his movies made. Did you know that he has plans for four other Avatar films? He does! He’s working on them now as he goes about life as well. I must confess to loving that he fits the writing of his movies in around his life. This is the best way to live! I approve.
Avatar: the Way of the Water Review without spoilers
After waiting this long to see the sequel, I have to say it was worth the wait. The themes in it seemed to focus on parenting and young adults learning to find their way. The children, of course, eventually realizing their mistakes and then the parents learning to trust the kids as they become young adults. It’s a very relatable topic for this stage in my life for sure.
From the first frame I was brought back to Pandora, and it was the single most amazing cinematographic adventure I have been on in recent years. The movie was visually stunning. That doesn’t even do justice to the imagery you see on the screen. This movie is a must see on the big screen and in Imax or 3 D preferrably! The sound and the visuals of this film are just meant for the theater.
For me, this movie brought raw emotion to the surface, and kept me involved throughout the entire film. I felt that so many aspects of the movie were realistic and believable. From the water vehicles, to the underwater photography, to the land sequences; they were all done in such a way that you felt you were there. It truly added a powerful layer to the story, and greatly impacted the storytelling. This is a movie I will definitely see again and will own. I give it 5 out of 5 stars. It’s a must see film for the holiday season.
