Sometimes you just need a good snack. Whether it be on a day you don’t feel like eating a full meal but you still want a little something, or you need a family snack for movie night, snacks are some of my favorites things to make and eat. And when you get to make something different than your typical choices (You know, like chips, popcorn, candy, etc) it’s a win-win. One thing my family loves when it comes to snack is a kick of spice. We love finding out what our spice level tolerance is ha! So if we can make something spicy, we will take the opportunity. One of my childhood favorite snacks was any type of oyster crackers. They are just perfectly crispy and buttery and filling. So when you add some extra butter and spices, they make for an amazing snack that everyone is sure to enjoy. So I knew I had to whip up a batch of my favorite version, my Cayenne Ranch Oyster Cracker Recipe and share it with ya’ll! It’s super easy to make, keeps really well in an airtight container, and is sure to be loved by the whole family. And once you have a base recipe, you can switch it up by adding in whatever herbs and spices you like! Let’s check it out!

Cayenne Ranch Oyster Crackers Recipe

You Will Need:

  • 1 box oyster crackers
  • 1 cup melted butter (salted)
  • 1 pack ranch seasoning
  • 1 tsp garlic power
  • Cayenne pepper (to taste, I used a little over a tsp)
  • Baking sheet

Instructions for making Cayenne Ranch Oyster Crackers:

Step 1: In a large bowl, melt your butter

Step 2: Add in your oyster crackers and toss to ensure each cracker is coated in your melted butter

Step 3: Add in your ranch, cayenne, and garlic powder. Toss WELL to combine. You really want to make sure that all your crackers are evenly coated with all of your spices and not clumpy.

Step 4: Preheat your oven to 250 degrees F and grab your baking sheet. Spread your crackers out evenly on your baking sheet and bake for 6 minutes. Mix you crackers up and place them back in the oven for an additional 10 minutes.

Step 5: After your crackers have been in the oven about 16 minutes, pull them out and make sure they have dried out. If they still look wet go ahead and pop them back for another few minutes ,or until dry. Let cool completely before moving them to an airtight container for storage.

And that’s it! A super simple cayenne ranch oyster cracker recipe for you to make and enjoy! And if you don’t like spicy things you can always omit the cayenne and just enjoy the ranch! You can also try different spice/herb combos using the same base recipe. It’s so versatile!

What flavor combo would you make? Let me know in the comments below!

I have made these using only the ranch packet. I love the addition of the cayenne! Perfect thing to add just a little kick!
