Spring time is finally here, and spring break is fast approaching. I’m always looking for fun crafts and recipes to make with my kiddos to welcome spring, and who doesn’t love a sweet treat right? That’s why I wanted to share with you my super simple spring Oreos! They are easy enough for the kids to do pretty much all themselves, and bonus, everything for this recipe can be purchased at the dollar tree! You can also change up the decorations to suite any theme or time of year! For my recipe I use frosting to dip the Oreos in, but you can switch it up and use melted chocolate if you want! Ready to learn how to make them? Let’s get started!

Super Simple Spring Oreos

Here is what you will need to make my super simple spring Oreos:

  • Oreos
  • Vanilla frosting (or any flavor you would like!)
  • Sprinkles (in spring colors)
  • Sanding sugar (in spring colors)
  • Chocolate candies
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie sheet

Step 1: First you will want to lay out your parchment paper on a cookie sheet, and grab your cookies!

Step 2: Stick your frosting in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until it becomes soft enough to coat your cookies.

Step 3: Using a fork (to help keep your hands clean, but you don’t have to use it) dip your cookies halfway into the frosting. Place on parchment paper.

Step 4: After all of your cookies are dipped, it’s time for decoration! Using your sprinkles and sanding sugar, go to town decorating your cookies. You can use as much or as little as you like.

Step 5: Now it’s time to add your chocolate candies, you’ll want to push them into the frosting a bit to help make sure they will stay well.

Step 6: This is an optional step, but it does help set the cookies up faster. I stick mine in the freezer for about 10 minutes to help solidify the frosting a bit faster.

And that’s it! In about 15 minutes you can have your own batch of super simple spring Oreos that are perfect for an afternoon snack, as a party treat, or maybe a gift to give friends. (Because who doesn’t LOVE Oreos right!?) And bonus, with the basic recipe you can now switch up the themes with different sprinkle colors ( like red and green for Christmas!). SO cute right? I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
