Hey guys! I’m back at it again with another super fun and easy crochet project! I love decorating for spring! All the fun colors, it just breaths life back into the world, don’t ya think? It’s been quite windy the last few weeks here in the south, which made me remember an awesome crochet project that is super simple to make, and it perfect for our windy spring weather. Crochet Wind Spinners are super simple to make, work up quickly, and look SO pretty when they are done! If you know how to do a single crochet and a double crochet, you are golden and can do this project. They can be done in so many different color combinations too. You can either use different skeins of yarns for a color change by row, OR, you can use a skein that already has several colors in it (which is easier because then there are no switching colors, ha!). You will want to grab some swivel hooks (I got a 6 pack for $6 from amazon!) to hang your crochet wind spinner from. Let’s check out how easy they are to make shall we?

Beginner Friendly Crochet Project: Crochet Wind Spinner

You Will Need:

  • Yarn weight 4 of your choice (Either a skein with multiple colors, or 3 skeins of different colors if you wish!)
  • 5 MM Crochet Hook
  • Swivel Hooks
  • Scissors

Pattern for this beginner friendly crochet wind spinner

Row 1: Chain 81, turn

Row 2: SC in each chain, turn (If you are switching colors, you will switch to a new color at the beginning of each row)

Row 3: 2 DC in each chain across, turn

Row 4: 3 DC in each chain across, turn

Row 5: SC in each chain across, tie off. (For this finishing row, if you chose to switch colors, use the same color as you used for your foundation chain on this row)

That’s it ya’ll. 5 Super simple and quick rows and you have a beautiful wind spinner! All you do after you finish is attach to a swivel hook and you are good to go! These would make great spring decorations, gifts for Easter, craft show pieces, etc. You could even add a pom-pom or a cute crochet accessory to the bottom of your wind spinner!

What colors would you use for your wind spinner? Let me know in the comments below!
