I can tell by all the rain we got last week that spring is almost upon us! Springtime is one of my favorite times of the year, with Easter being one of my favorite holidays! As I had some downtime today I was trying to come up with a simple and fun crochet project to do to welcome spring into my home and I knew I had seen bunny butt coasters made from other mediums (fabric, ceramic, etc) and just knew I had to recreate them in crochet. Now, I’m still a beginner, maybe on the intermediate side of beginner, so I had to make sure it was not only simple enough for me, but for anyone else who may have just started crochet, or are just looking for a simple, and fun project to whip up quickly. As long as you know how to single crochet, half double crochet, and crochet in the round you are golden! Let’s check it out!

Instructions for Crochet Bunny Butt Coasters
This pattern is made in 4 pieces, the coaster, the bunny feet, the foot pad, and the pom pom. (For the pom pom you can either make them or buy them!)
For the coaster:
Round 1: ch 2, work 10 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook and join with a slst (10 stiches total)
Round 2: ch 1, Inc into each stich around and join with a slst (20 stitches total)
Round 3: ch 1, SC in next stitch, Inc into the next stitch, repeat until end of round (30 stitches total)
Round 4: ch 1, SC in the next 2 stitches, Inc into the next stitch, repeat until end of round (40 stitches total)
Round 5: ch 1, SC in the next 3 stiches, Inc into the next stitch, repeat until end of round (50 stitches total)
Round 6-8: SC around (50 stitches total) Fasten off.
Bunny Feet (make 2)
Ch 4, Work 2 HDC in the 2nd ch from the hook, SC in the next ch. In the last chain work 2 more HDCs, then ch 1, and SLST into the same st. Ch 1 HDC into the same stitch and then SLST into that stitch. Now working on the opposite side of your foundation ch SC in the next stitch, work 2 HDC in that same stitch and then join with a SLST. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing (unless you plan on gluing, then the long tail isn’t needed).
For the Foot Pads (make 2 in the opposite color)
Ch 2, work 6 SC into the 2nd chain from the hook, join together with a SLST and fasten off
For The Pom Poms:
You can either make them yourself (there are tons of different ways to do this, lot’s of techniques on YouTube!) or purchase them separately.
Now it’s assembly time!
First you will want to attach your foot pads to your bunny feet! You can either sew them on or you can use fabric glue. Personally for something this small my go-to is fabric glue. It’s easy to work with, cheap, and dries super fast. Once your foot pads are attached, add your feet to your coaster, with about half of them hanging off the coaster. Then attach your bunny tail pom pom to the top and you are done! See? I told you it was going to be easy didn’t I?
These Crochet Bunny Butt Coasters would make such cute decorations for spring, a sweet gift for a friend, or the perfect decoration for your Easter Sunday table! I hope you enjoy this pattern!
