This is a sponsored post from Blue Light Kids. The opinions in this post are honest and my own.
My kids have been learning virtually all year. I, as a mom, honestly have loved it. I love having my kids home and I love having them learning. It has made for some nice and easy days this year. I have one in 9th grade and one that is a senior and then one in his last year of college. This is when you love having them be so adult and fun. They get your jokes and sometimes you may even get theirs…sometimes. So here’s how to help those kids get their work done when they are virtually learning…or even in school!
Steps to help the kids learn virtually or even in school
The first thing we did was try the glasses that filter the blue light from our computers, ipads and phones. We found that this has actually helped mine get their schooling done while being alert and focused. We got our blue light glasses from Blue Light Kids. My daughter has been using her glasses for about two weeks now. You may be wondering how does blue light glasses work? They work by filtering out the blue light given off from digital screens. The blue light filter is thought to help you produce the melatonin you need to get a good nights sleep. Since we are all on our devices too much during the day it’s a good idea to use these to ensure that you get some good sleep. They have also been shown to prevent computer-induced headaches and sore eyes (ie eye strain) from staring at a screen for too long…like while you’re in school or simply watching TikTok.
Now please ignore her desk. We are all a work in progress and lort knows that a few drink containers aren’t going to hurt us moms…are they? No, of course, they won’t. Now I’m all for anything that can help my kids get sleep and prevent headaches (at least there’s no caffeine on her desk, right? Right!). We tried our Blue Light Kid glasses and she did feel like she was able to fall asleep faster then when she doesn’t use them. It’s a win/win for my family. Are you interested in getting some Blue Light Glasses for your children? Blue Light Kids has an awesome special just for my readers. Using the code myunentitledlifeB1G2 you can buy one pair of the blue light filtering glasses and get two pairs free. That is an awesome way to see if they work for your family like they did for mine! By the way if you are a teacher and you need some for your classroom they even have teacher scholarships available! Check them out too if you know someone who can use these!
What other ways can you think of to help the kids learning virtually?
Another thing we did to help our kids learn virtually was make sure we kept our bed times. We are on a set schedule and that always helps the kids stay on track. It gives them the steadiness and structure that kids long for!
Then we also set them up their own space for doing their work. I love that we did this and they don’t have to work at the kitchen table. They both have desks and laptops to do their work on in their room.
We make sure they eat their three main meals each day. This is another thing that helps kids focus. They need, I would even say they crave, structure, routines, and meal times. They need this to keep their minds alert and their bodies able to focus on all that they have to do.
