I have found that it can be really difficult to get ready for back to school after having a few months of vacation during summertime. Whether you’re excited to have the kids back to school or not, the reality is that back to school mornings can be quite difficult to get used to again. Today I’m going to share some time-saving tips for back to school season mornings. This way, you can rest easy knowing that you’re prepared for the rush style mornings that back to school season bring. So let’s check out my 3 time saving tips for back to school mornings that are sure to make the whole rest of the day run more smoothly!
3 Time Saving Tips for Back to School Mornings
Prepare on Sunday
The best way to get back into the swing of back to school mornings is to utilize your time wisely. You should prepare five school lunches on Sunday. Have the kids help you out with packing up five school lunches per child so that you won’t have to worry about this during the weekdays. In addition to using Sunday to prepare for school lunches, have your kids pick out their clothing options for the week. You can have a shelf in their room or a special location in their closet where they’ll set out their Monday thru Friday school wardrobe to save time on busy back to school season mornings. This little extra preparation on weekends can really help your school mornings run smoothly during the week. I have also found that kids really enjoy having a say in what they pack for lunches, what outfits they were ,etc. And having them all laid out and ready means they have a few extra minutes to lay in bed on school mornings. It’s really a win-win.
Pre-Make Your Stuff
It’s not always the kids who have a difficult time getting it together on back to school season mornings, us adults have difficulties too. It’s important that you prepare stuff for yourself as well as your kids. Consider buying a coffee maker or tea maker that allows you to schedule an auto-brew feature. This will cut down on your morning chaos. You can also set out your own wardrobe for the week as well as pack your own lunches for work if you leave the home for work. These little tasks to pre-make your own stuff will ultimately save a ton of time in the morning. When everyone is prepared in the morning, it makes everyone’s morning run more smoothly. Less chaos= happier homes I have found!
Create a Routine
Lastly, if you truly want a time-saving tip for back to school season mornings that works in any family situation, then you must create a routine. Purchase a dry erase board that has a calendar and cork board so that you can have a little family command center. This is where you’ll write down anything that’s going on for the month and have a place to tack up reminders on Post-it notes as well. Having your daily back to school season morning routine up in a visual way will help the entire family stay on track while you work to create less chaos during back to school season mornings.
These three tips may sound simple and easy enough to get on board with, but many of us fall off the bandwagon when we’re about a month into the school season. Use these three time saving tips for back to school season mornings to alleviate chaos and stress as you wave your kids off to school every day.
