There was that one time when my element went out in my oven and I had the ingenius idea to make brownies in my slow cooker. Well now it’s all the rage to make breads and cakes in your slow cooker. So I thought I’d bring you that recipe too. After looking at all the yummy breads and cakes I decided I had bananas to use up so why not let it be my first bread in the slow cooker.

Look at how pretty and brown it got even in the slow cooker. Doesn’t it look yummy? It tasted it too. Here’s how to make a banana bread recipe in the slow cooker.

Banana Bread Ingredients made in the slow cooker

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1/8 c pecans or walnuts (optional)

1/2 c butter softened

2/3 c sugar

2 eggs

4 small bananas

Milk 3 tbs

vanilla 1 tsp

Banana Bread recipe directions to make in your slow cooker

Turn slow cooker on high. Grease pyrex or bread pan (I used pyrex). Add flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Add nuts if you want too. Mix. Put softened butter and sugar into mixer and mix. Then add eggs one at a time. Next add milk and vanilla. Just mix. Add bananas and mix. Next add flour mixture and stir until it is just barely combined. Pour into greased pyrex and place into crockpot for 3 hours. If you are using a metal bread pan put on top of aluminum foil balls for 2 hours. Put a towel under the lid of the crockpot to catch any condensation.

Enjoy with a cup of milk. My family enjoyed the banana bread this way. It was easy and I love that I can just walk away and not worry it will burn! What’s your favorite add in for banana bread?
