Learning how to get back to school season started off right may sound overwhelming. Summer break was such a fun time with a lax routine and the ability to enjoy more family time. Every household has a hard time adjusting to back to school season. We wake up tired and not quite ready to start a day full of learning, both kids, and adults alike. Today I’m sharing a few tips on how to get back to school season started off right.

How to Get Back to School Season Started off Right

How to Get Back to School Season Started off Right

School Supplies

Your first priority to be ready for back to school season is to pick up a school supplies list. Many stores will have a generic list while some schools provide you with a list of necessary school supplies for you to purchase based on what grade your child is going into. If you don’t have this list yet, ask around to see if anyone has the school supplies list ready for your school yet.

Summer Reading

Now is the time to get that summer reading wrapped up, if you haven’t already. Some children are assigned reading throughout the summer break season but often neglect it a little bit. If you have a child who was assigned summer reading, be certain to check in with them and make sure that they’ve satisfied all requirements of their summer reading assignment.

First Day Prep

Be sure to set out the first-day outfit, pack your child’s school lunch the night before and do whatever you can that first-day prep for back to school on the evening before. This ensures the first morning of back to school season will go smoothly. Many of you are sure to wake up later than planned and that first morning can be a little chaotic, do all prepping the night before to make things easier.

Set Bedtime Routine

About two weeks before back to school season starts, be sure you’re setting the school season bedtime routine again. This helps your children adjust to going to bed earlier and waking up in the morning. Giving your child at least 2 weeks to get back into the swing of a regular bedtime routine will help them adjust better when back to school season arrives.

I’m confident each of these tips will help ensure you start this new school year off right. Every little moment counts, be sure to implement most of these tips into your everyday routine so that your back to school season is started off on the right foot for both you and your children.

I love back to school season! There is something about it that feels comfortable and cozy. It is not at all stressful for me, so I love it. It’s good to get it started off right so you’re not stressed out last minute.
