I was invited on an all expense paid trip to cover Solo for Disney. All thoughts are my own.
SOLO is out today!! Go get your tickets and find out all the reasons why we’ve all loved it so much. It’s so fun to go on these junkets and press events to simply learn more about the actors in these films. Woody was a lot of laughs. We had so much laughter while interviewing him. He’s a crack up. Check out what Woody Harrelson thought about playing Tobias Beckett in Solo.
What drew you to the part?
WH: Wrote and directed lost in London and then met up with the guys from Solo. I said no to Solo and The Hunger Games. But Ally, the producer wouldn’t take no for an answer the first time or the second time. I told my family I was going to take some time off. But then I said yes.
What kind of legacy do you hope to leave?
WH: I hope it’s a smiling kind of legacy not a frowning kind. (What a fun guy!)
What set your character a part from any other character you’ve played?
WH: I’ve played scoundrels and thieves before but never in space. First question I actually answered, he said. He’s so funny.
Who’s been your mentor that’s helped you?
WH: Jack Nicholson was a mentor to him. Place in LA and Maui. Jack lives near him and he’s given him lots of good advice.
What do you attribute your general happy attitude to?
WH: I’m genuinely a happy person. I’m grateful for the life I have. There was a point where I gave up. I thought I can’t do this. I can’t crack it. I made it through and I think gratitude is my life hack.
How do you describe Tobias Beckett?
WH: He’s a survivor. Tobias wants to be done with this life of criminality.
How did you like working with Alden?
WH: Loved working with Alden. He’s a really hard worker. We work on these humongous sets and then there’s these cloth room. Alden was in his cubby (next to me) taking piano lessons and reading a novel. I’m over there playing speed chess online and he’s making himself better. I admire his work ethic and how he cultivates himself as a human.
Did you give Alden any advice?
WH: I told him I’m a great example of what not to do.
What inspired you to become vegan?
WH: Sat on a bus at 23 and sat next to this girl who looks at him and “says your lactose intolerant. If you stop dairy all the mucus will dry up and it’ll go away.” I was like ok I’ve always been this way. But something about the way she communicated made me believe her. In 3 days everything cleared up. That was the beginning of a real evolution for me. What else isn’t true if milk doesn’t do a body good? That started me on my journey. The best book he read on veganism was by Arnold Ehret 1910 the info was 50 years old then. The Mucusless Diet and another one called Rational Fasting.
If you could be any character from the original Star Wars who would it be?

I have heard a lot of good things about the movie. It gave a great insight on the origin of the whole Star Wars saga.
