Adorable Easter Thumbprint Cookies

The sunshine is about to start shining and spring will be here soon. With spring arrives the Easter holiday. Easter is a great time to gather in the kitchen with the kids. If you’re looking for something yummy and fun to make then you should try these your hand at these easy and adorable Easter thumbprint cookies. These adorable Easter thumbprint cookies are easy and fun to make with the kids and are sure to be a hit with the whole family.

If you're looking for something yummy and fun to make then you should try these adorable Easter thumbprint cookies. These adorable Easter thumbprint cookies are easy and fun to make with the kids. 

Here is what you will need to make my Adorable Easter Thumbprint Cookies:

Recipe makes 24 cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 C of butter 
  • 1 1/2 C Powder sugar
  • 2 tsp marshmallow extract 
  • 1 egg
  • 3 C of flour 
  • 1 tsp baking soda 
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 container each of yellow, pink and green sugar sprinkles
  • 3 small bowls for the sprinkles
  • 1 bag of Hershey kisses, 24 unwrapped

Directions for my Adorable Easter Thumbprint Cookies:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
  2. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside
  3. Using a standing mixer, cream together the butter, powder sugar, vanilla and egg and mix until combined and creamy
  4. Using a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed
  6. Using your hands continue to mix until fully combined
  7. Pour sprinkles into their own bowl
  8. Using a small ice cream scoop, scoop up a small amount of dough
  9. Roll the dough into a ball and place onto the cookie sheet
  10. Repeat steps for 23 more cookie dough balls
  11. Pick up one ball and place it into the yellow sprinkles and roll the ball around so that the cookie dough ball becomes fully coated in the sprinkles
  12. Repeat with remaining balls, alternating between the three sprinkles colors
  13. Place in the oven for 8-12 minutes
  14. Once cookies are baked let sit for 1 minute to cool
  15. Quickly place the unwrapped Hershey kiss into the center of the cookie
  16. Let cookies sit on the tray for 10 -20 minutes or until the chocolate is cooled
