What a year it was. It was the year of travel for me. The year of a new job that I’m so blessed to be at. It was the year of me working like I’ve never worked before. It was a year of enjoying just being where I was at on the way to where I was going. We not only travelled this year but we also added to our family in the way of a super sweet dog. That makes us a 3 dog and 1 cat family if you’re keeping track.
On the travel front I was so excited to take the kids to New York City for the first time in April. My mom went with us and it was so fun to see the sites and enjoy the town. I had never been and of course my kids had not been either. It was a great experience for our family.
Before that I was invited out to San Francisco to Pixar headquarters and handling some press for the Cars 3 junket. Some of my best blogger friends went with me to this and we went in early and saw some amazing sites.
My son and I then went in May to Washington DC on a bus for like 9 hours. It was a great trip and I’m so glad I got to go with him. These are the memories we want to make with our kids. Memories of going out and doing and not just sitting at home.
The last trip I took in 2017 was back to LA for the Thor: Ragnarok event. It was my first Avengers/Marvel trip and I was in utter awe at it all. Seeing and interviewing the stars and meeting lots of new blogger friends made this trip a big deal in my book. I went to Disneyland for the first time as well. I have been to DisneyWorld but never Disneyland and we were able to do California Adventures too.
As a total family we went to Saint Augustine Florida on our family trip. We saw my cousin and enjoyed 7 days of beach, sand and fun. I love our family trips so much. My husband and I also took our friends trip back to Florida with our besties too. We so enjoy recharging with a few days away. I don’t think I’ve ever travelled this much before. It was amazing and I am ready for more travel.
What does 2018 hold for me?
I’ll be continuing to work my full time day job. I’ll continue to work on the blog part time on the weekends. I will be adding taking 2 Masters level classes as I have to to retain my teaching license. So the first part of 2018 is going to be incredibly difficult. I read that I should expect to spend 12 hours for every 3 hour class and I’m taking two and working a full time and a part time job…did I mention that? Busy is good right?
Accomplishing goals this year is what I’m leaning towards. Here are my goals for 2018.
Get my pageviews back up to where they were over a year ago before my hosting disaster.
Finish my 2 classes and get B’s or better.
Go on a celebratory cruise with my hubby for our 25th anniversary.
Take the kids somewhere fun and show them that life is about experiences and not things.
Enjoy time with them because they are growing up way too fast.
Make time to workout 3 times per week.
Drink less soda and more water.
Increase my salads and decrease my fast food.
Love more and nag less.
