How to Have a Fun NYE Party with Your Friends & Their Kids

New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to spend with other families. If you have friends with kids,
you know it can be hard to plan something fun. Instead of missing out on the NYE festivities,
you can start planning accordingly. Here is how to have a fun New Year’s Eve party with your
friends and their kids.

Make the party kid friendly

When it comes to throwing a party that involves kids, you need to make it kid friendly. You can make it kid friendly by having kid friendly snacks, drinks, and games. You don’t need to go over the top, but having a few things around that kids will love is important.

Have the ball drop early

There is a lot of anticipation when it comes to throwing a party with kids. One trick that I’ve
learned is to have the ball drop early. No parent with young children wants to stay up until
midnight. Just think of the day after with attitudes and the crying and whining that will occur.
You can have the ball drop anytime you want! Blow bubbles, throw confetti, and really make
those kids feel special.

Create a space for kids only

Usually when there are kids and adults around, it’s nice to have a space where the kids can play and relax, while the adults talk. The adults can take time supervising the kid area. The kid friendly space could have a ball pit, bounce house, or just a lot of bouncy balls to throw around. Make it a space the kids want to be in!

Keep the party short

No kid can last hours and hours at a party, especially a New Year’s Eve party. With your friends and their kids in mind, remember to keep the party short. If everyone ends up staying longer, great, but don’t make them feel obligated. On the invitation, or when you talk to the families, remind them it will only be for a few hours.

Have fun no matter what

You know from throwing parties before that things are bound to go awry. It’s okay, but just
remember you can still have fun. If a kiddo spills something on the floor, don’t get stressed. If as many people don’t show up as you thought that is okay too. Make a commitment to yourself to have fun no matter what!
