If you’re in a business like I am that requires you to be creative all the time you at some point just burn out. It’s hard to get back to work after that happens. Here’s some quick things you can do to get your creativity back after you’ve lost it.

how to get your creativity back after it's left

How to find your creativity after it’s left

Move

If I’m in the middle of writing a post and just feel like I can’t write anymore I go for a walk around my neighborhood. Something about being out in the fresh air and just breathing helps put things back into perspective. It just makes me thankful and grateful again. Then I can come back and get to work.

Rest

When you get plenty of sleep you feel at your best. When you feel at your best you are more able to find those great ideas for posts, crafts, recipes and more. Ideas come at rest and for that reason and that alone you should always try to get your sleep. Go to bed at a decent time and make sure you get up at a good time too. I go to bed at 9 and am up ready to start my day and get ready for work at 5am. If I’m lucky I can stretch that sleep until 5:30.  Get your rest and let those ideas flow.

Take a break and meditate

Take a short break and get up and move around the room for a few minutes. Then you can sit a minute and pray or meditate to bring yourself back to a good place. Then right back to work. Meditating and/or prayer are beautiful things for the body and mind.

Get ready to play

If you’re in a rut it’s a great idea to get out and play with your kids or your pets. If you’re home alone take those dogs and play with them with their toys. If you’re kids are home and young take them and play whatever they want for 15 minutes. It’s a great idea to take 2 15 minute breaks twice a day and play. When you plan your play time into your day you are less likely to ignore it. Playing breeds creativity so get down on your hands and knees and play with your kids!

Have you ever been in a spot where you needed to get creative and couldn’t? What helped you? Leave me a comment! Don’t forget to like us and follow us on facebook and pinterest.
