Where were you the day the world stopped turning? I was running a small in home day care. I was outside with the kids. I got the phone call. I was in total shock at what was happening. I brought the kids in and put them at centers and then went into the kitchen and watched the news on my little tv. It was horrible. My sister and brother in law came over that night and we all sat at the table wondering what was happening in this world.

About 9/11
9/11 opens in theaters on September 8 and features an all star cast including Luis Guzman (The Taking of Pelham 1,2,3), Gina Gershon (Showgirls), Wood Harris (Justified), Jacqueline Bisset (Dancing on the Edge (BBC), Welcome to New York), Olga Fonda (The Vampire Diaries) and Bruce Davison (X-Men).
In the World Trade Center, a billionaire sits in his attorney’s office awaiting a divorce hearing against his wife. In a west side apartment, a bike messenger kisses his 5-year old daughter and sings her “Happy Birthday” before leaving for work. A maintenance man gets dispatched to help a tenant with his lock. In an upper east side apartment, a young model musters the courage to break up with her sugar daddy. As random as random can be, these individuals step into a crowded World Trade Center elevator.
Wrapped up in their own world, they all ride silently hearing only the sound of the elevator giving notice of each floor. When the elevator stops on the 34th floor, it empties leaving only these five behind. Moments later … their world changes as the collision of a jet into the North Tower incapacitates the elevator.
With no understanding of what has happened and is happening around them, these fives are forced to band together and fight against all odds to escape from the impending horrific collapse. During these critical minutes, a story of courage, faith, and the will to live unfolds.
I remember looking out the window that day, thinking what a beautiful day it was, with the sky so blue and , how clear and crisp it was, and then the day went so horribly wrong. Any beautiful day in the beginning/middle of September always brings me back .
I was suppose to go on a day trip to Mount Rushmore and of course all the flights were cancelled.

I remember how horrific the planes looked as they plunged into the buildings
Standing on a roof and seeing the smoke
My daughter was 2 weeks old, we had just arrived at the health dept for shots and a check up when it came across the radio, I remember rushing out of there and home as soon as we were down. I turned on the TV and it was the worse feeling possible.
Seeing the planes
I remember watching the news all day. The videos were horrifying.
Awful day, it was. Actually turned out to be my newly 5yr old little girls birthday.
I remember watching the news with my husband when the planes hit..It was horrifying.
Profound sadness
I remember that I was in 8th grade science class and they announced over the intercom and our teacher turned on the TV.
I remember first being in shock and then seeing that there were tears blurring my vision. I then thought of my husband who was in the military and knew that our lives would change forever.
TOTAL SHOCK & ANGER
I was at home with my newborn.
I remember being at home and thinking that what I was watching was a movie and not reality.
Being scared especially since the PA plane went down close by.
I remember watching the news and my heart breaking for our nation.
I remember the fear. My daughter was a year old and my son was in elementary school. The school went into lockdown. I was working from home. Just fear and sadness.
I remember all the confusion and panic. The President was in Florida and there was a big debate about whether or not he should return to Washington. I remember everyone trying to get out of Atlanta. Everyone wanted to get home to their families.
I was getting ready for school in 8th grade. It was quite a shocking day for all of us.
I just remember feeling like it wasn’t real. It just seemed like an awful nightmare. Waking up the next morning, it didn’t feel real.
I was in college and we had woke up shortly after the first tower was hit. We thought we were watching a movie until we went to change the channel and seen it was on every one of them. We realized what we were seeing was live and we went down to the center hall to sit with everyone as we tried making sense of what was going on.
I was with my grandchildren that morning and learned about the 9/11 on TV.
My grandchildren were with me the day of 9/11 as it was shown on TV.
