Let’s look at 5 reasons why Puppy Dog Pals is Disney Jr’s newest hit for preschoolers.
Puppy Dog Pals is this super cute show for the preschool set. It takes us the viewers on the journey of learning about sibling puppies Bingo and Rolly. They’re thrill-seeking brothers who get into many adventures out in their neighborhood and beyond. It’s so fun to watch these two brothers get into mischief without even knowing the havoc they are causing. In the episode, we saw they went on a trip to Hawaii all because Bob (their owner) wanted to feel the sand between his toes. So they fly to Hawaii to bring some sand back. Cuteness ensues.
I was invited on an all expense paid trip to learn more about Puppy Dog Pals. It’s my pleasure to bring you my honest opinion of this show.
Reason number one that Puppy Dog Pals is great for Preschoolers is that each episode is really short. Nice for a toddler’s attention span. They only run for 11 minutes. So you get two episodes each time it airs.
The second reason is that the producers were aiming it at the 2-5 year age range and I think that they nailed it. I think it is fun and interesting and that preschoolers are going respond to it. I think the colorfulness and the fun dogs are going to draw the younger set right into it.
Reason number three is that Disney Jr doesn’t talk down to the preschool set. They just talk to them. They knew they had a time crunch to get them involved in the storyline. So they draw them into their little 11 minute movies with fun and family love. That’s another thing you notice. This is not just a man and his two dogs it’s a family unit. Disney is all about family no matter how that family is made.
Great reason number four is that there are new songs in each episode. So each one gets new music. Kids love music and Disney really took that into account when making this cute new show. Disney actually employs educational consultants to make sure that what their bringing to film is going to be good for kids. I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not but it’s working.
The last reason that Puppy Dog Pals is great for preschoolers is because of their testing in front of children. They take the short episodes into California schools to gauge reactions. They want to see that they are getting the desired result that they were looking for. It’s a great gauge to see if the story is working for their youngest critics. It’s airing on April 14th at 10:30 am ET. on Disney Channel. You can also catch it on youtube. They’ve already got a full season ahead. They’ve produced 25 shows that are ready to be shown to the Disney Channel audience. Why not check it out and see for yourself in the morning.
