DIY Crayon Heart Valentines

Happy Tuesday everyone! Valentine’s Day is just a few days away! Can you believe how fast the year is moving? I even lost track of time, so I had to quickly think of something to make for my daughters class for their Valentine’s Day class party. I came across some of her old broken crayons and my heart silicone mold. So it hit me, I remembered last year seeing these super cute DIY Crayon Heart Valentines and I knew that it would be perfect. You only need a few things to make these, and you know kids love anything they can color with right? Not only that, it gives parents a break from the tons of candy they will be getting from everyone else. This whole project takes about 20 minutes from start to finish (and that’s including baking time!). Keep reading to find out how to make them for yourself. Enjoy!

Here is how easy it is to make these DIY Crayon Heart Valentines

You Will Need:

  • Crayons! (make sure to peel off their wrappers)
  • A silicone heart mold (You could also use any other shape you wanted. I grabbed mine from 5 Below)
  • My valentine templete (posted below)
  • Scissors and a pen (or sharpie, or you can use a Silhouette machine like I did)

Steps for making these DIY Crayon Heart Valentines:

First, click the image above and print out your valentines. You could also trace them in your Silhouette software and use your sketch pens to design your valentines.

Next, Preheat your oven to 230F. Make sure all the crayons you are going to be using have been unwrapped and have no paper remaining on them. Break them into 3 or 4 pieces and put them in your molds. You can go with colors of the same family, or completely crazy. It’s up to you! No matter what no to will be the same which is pretty cool!

Then, Pop your mold into the oven for 15 minutes. When you take them out it doesn’t take long at all for the crayons to harden again. I popped mine in the freezer for about 5 minutes and they were ready to go.

Last, Pop your crayons out of the mold and check out how awesome they look! Attach them with tape (or hot glue) to your printed valentines and bam! You have a super cute valentine the kids are going to love!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
