How to select the perfect pillow
We have had our pillows for about two years now. It was time to get new ones. You know it’s time when you have to start folding your pillow onto itself so that your neck and head is comfortable. So we set about to trying to find the perfect pillow. Here’s some quick tips on how to pick the perfect pillow.
First decide which kind of sleeper you are. Each position can have a different type of pillow that will be best for you. I’m a back and side sleeper. So I need a medium thickness pillow to support my neck. A person that sleeps on their stomach will want a pillow that is a bit flatter.
Second decide if you need an allergy free pillow. If you do you can either go with a down pillow (not feather make sure it says down…there is a difference) or a latex pillow. My personal favorite is the latex pillow from Brentwood Home. Those are the ones I have and they are the right amount of firmness that I need. My husband is enjoying his as well. It makes for neutral alignment for myself when I’m sleeping. That’s the perfect position for sleeping. It makes sure your neck and back are aligned properly.
If you’re worried about dust mites and mold then you need to select the latex pillows. The ones I have are dust mite and mold resistant. As a mom of three this makes me happy. My oldest has some allergies that aren’t technically diagnosed and this will greatly help us help him. His seem to be mostly seasonal but having them be dust and mold resistant is a bonus for me.
I’ve had my Brentwood Home pillows for about two weeks now and I can seriously say that I am in love. These pillows are latex filled and hold their shape. My hubby and I were talking in bed last night about the fact that we no longer have to roll our pillow up to get it to support our necks like we want. We are in love with these pillows. Not just for the fact that we no longer roll them up. But also for the fact that they are hypoallergenic too. I left my pillow out of their bags for a week before I began sleeping on them. When they come they have a pretty strong latex smell. But after a week out of their bags I began sleeping on them. I’ve been fine sleeping on them ever since. I love how much better I sleep now! No waking up to fluff my pillow or roll it up!
