How to Make Melt and Pour Soap Recipe
I love to get crafty in the kitchen. I also love to diy my own household cleaners and soaps. These melt and pour soaps are so easy to make and you can do it at home in your pj’s in no time. The soap we made will last us about a year we think. It took us about 20 minutes to make and cut up! So here’s how to make melt and pour soap at home!
The first thing to do is to gather your ingredients. I got mine at a local craft store but you can grab them in the links below. If you purchase through those links I do get a nickel or so to keep my site going. Here’s the ingredients needed for melt and pour soap.
Essential oils (any you like) I used geranium
saran wrap
Once you’ve cut them up then you melt them in the microwave. My microwave is really old. The instructions said to do it in 10 second increments. I did mine in one minute increments and it was done after the 6th or 7th time. Stir as you go with a wooden spoon.
The last time you’re microwaving the soap cubes you line your bread pans with plastic wrap. This is so you can pull it out of the pan easily. Then stir the soap, add the essential oils (I added about 6 drops) and I added 6 drops of red food coloring. Feel free to leave this out if you don’t want your soap colored.
Let stand for 45 minutes. Mine sat for 2 hours as we were busy making cookies. 🙂
Pull out of pan and slice up. Give as gifts in a mason jar or in a pretty gift bag. Mine will be used by me and my girl all year long. It smells amazing and feels luscious on your skin. Check out my video of how it set below!!
