Banana bread brings back so many memories to me. The smells of it baking. The taste of it after it’s cooled. It’s a delicious way to use up old bananas and make a delicious night time snack. That’s when I usually make it. I don’t think about it for breakfast. I think about it when I’m looking for a dessert after dinner!
My family loves to make and eat banana bread! It’s one of our favorite things to do when we have leftover bananas going bad. It also makes a great gift idea for family and friends. This is my tried and true recipe that we make over and over again. So why not try it for your family?
Let’s Make Banana Bread
Banana Bread Ingredients
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c butter melted
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c sour milk (you can make soured milk by adding a tsp vanilla to this milk and letting sit while you get other ingredients gathered)
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 large or 3 med bananas
nuts (optional)
Add all your dry ingredients first and mix together. Then add wet ingredients and mix until smooth. Pour into 2 greased (bottom and sides) and floured (on the bottom) loaf pans. Bake at 350* for 50-60 minutes. Makes 2 loaves.
