DIY Creepy Crawly Soap

diy creepy crawly soap

Happy Tuesday everyone! I’m back with another super simple and fun Halloween craft that is sure to gross out your kids while they are washing their hands! This DIY Creepy Crawly Soap only takes a few minutes to make and is the perfect creepy bathroom accessory all Halloween season long! And I don’t know about your kids, but for some reason when I put gross things like fake bugs in their soap, it seems like they actually want to use it more. Because kids are weird. and gross, ha! One of my favorite thing about this project is that it’s something you can do for pretty much any holiday using different trinkets (think, mini ornaments for Christmas, heart confetti for Valentines day, bunny erasers for Easter, etc)! And it only cost me $3 to make. You gotta love the dollar tree! Let’s check out how to make it!

Here is how to make this DIY Creepy Crawly Soap:

You Will Need:

  • Clear soap (make sure it has a removable label)
  • plastic bugs or trinkets

(yep, you only need 2 things!)

Instructions:

Step 1: The first thing you are going to want to do is remove the current label that is on your soap. Most labels peel right off. But, most soap bottle labels also leave a sticky residue behind which brings us to step 2..

Step 2: Once you have your labels off, it’s time to tackle the sticky mess left behind. Now, I’ve heard that soaking it under hot water works. Well, that didn’t work for me, ha. But what did work like a charm was tea tree oil! I just poured some on the bottles and scrubbed with a sponge and it came right off! So whatever works for you, get the stick off!

Step 3: Now it’s time to get gross! It’s pretty easy to see that all you need to do next is gets your creepy crawly things in the bottle! I just folded them up and shoved them in there. You can use a stick to push them down and position them. Once they are in there, they stay in place pretty well! Screw you cap back on and you are good to go!

There you have it! Just a few bucks and a few minutes of your time and you have a gross and fun Halloween decoration. Enjoy!
