Are you wanting a bar area for your home? You can have a coffee bar or an alcohol bar in no time. It’s not too much work or too difficult. You don’t have to buy a new piece of furniture just repurpose one you already had. Mine was my old island from my other house. We have no room for an island here so I turned it into our DIY Bar project. You can just as easily turn it into a coffee bar though! Check out what all I did.
DIY Bar Project for the home
First I cleaned all the crap up off my bar. You know I had a ton of crap on there first right? My house doesn’t look like a magazine. It looks like 5 people, 2 dogs and a cat live here. It’s very lived in. So I rehomed all my items that weren’t supposed to be there and cleaned up the island. Installed my shelf that wasn’t in there before.
Next I rounded up all my alcohol that didn’t have to be refridgerated. I set it out and arranged the glasses and other items on the bar area. I added my husband’s drink mix shaker, shot glass and some pretty flowers and candles. That’s it. I didn’t buy anything special. Although the moose was a gift from a super friend. Isn’t it cute?
Now your diy bar is ready for you to pour yourself a drink! I love how it turned out and how easy it was. The letters are from Hobby Lobby. What do you think about the letters? Classy look or no?
What other ideas do you have for a diy bar? I could see an ice cream bar in summer. Or maybe a hot dog bar for super bowl. Any other bar ideas? Leave me a comment I love to read them.
What a cute idea! Of course, we know you had a crap ton of stuff on this island before it’s transformation. We all have those spots that are dumping grounds (my little kitchen counter with the basket for instance). I love the moose and the photo bomb from your cat too!
Yup! Clutter spots are the worst! 🙂
