We just got back from a nice week long vacation. We went to the beach and when we go there we love to visit the local fish market. They have the best and freshest fish in Pensacola. It’s called Joe Patti’s. If you’re from Pensacola you know exactly what I’m talking about. We always grab red snapper, salmon and shrimp. This time we bought 2 pounds of shrimp. I usually make shrimp alfredo and shrimp cocktail. Mmmm it’s so good. So I thought I’d share the recipe with you! Here’s my shrimp cocktail recipe.

Shrimp Cocktail Recipe Ingredients

Yum

1-2 pounds of shrimp
Cocktail sauce

Cooking instructions for shrimp cocktail

fresh shrimp

Fill a pot 2/3 full of water. I used a pretty big one for our 1 pound of shrimp. Bring water to boiling. Add shrimp and boil for 3 minutes until it all turns completely pink. No gray should be showing anywhere! Then immediately dunk in an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

Then enjoy with your favorite cocktail sauce or make your own!

Such an easy quick meal! I love making this and then having a big salad. Shrimp has a lot of protein!

I love boiled shrimp. I never buy cocktail sauce, It’s easier and cheaper to make your own. Just add some creamy horseradish to ketchup and chill – it’s so easy.

I had no idea it was that easy to make! I’ll be making it myself from now on. Thanks Nancy!

I have a big bag of frozen uncooked shrimp in the freezer – wasn’t sure how to cook it, so thanks!
