I have been compensated by Pedialyte for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
I had to run to WalMart the other day for all my odd end items I must have to keep a house running…like dishwashing powder. We can’t live without that as much as I cook for my family! I was walking through the baby aisle and had an epiphany right there in the middle of the aisle. I was standing in front of the Pedialyte shelves. We gave our babies pedialyte all the time. Why shouldn’t I do the same for myself after my workouts? What better item to keep you hydrated than Pedialyte?
I grabbed some fun sticks of Pedialyte and went on my way.
My family does a 5k every year and it is about time to begin training for that event. I can’t wait. Now the family is ready. We’ll be taking our Pedialyte sticks and water bottles and be a well hydrated family that loves their 5ks.
Here’s what you need to know about Pedialyte
Did you know that Pedialyte is the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for hydration? Did you know we can lose vital fluids when we’ve got a virus, but Pedialyte helps prevent mild to moderate dehydration. How you ask? Well, Pedialyte is medically formulated with the optimal balance of sugar and sodium to prevent dehydration due to vomiting and diarrhea in both children and adults. We all should be properly hydrated. Because hydration helps your body work correctly. However when you’re sick, it’s easy to lose vital fluids.
Pedialyte has just enough sugar in balance with sodium to promote fluid absorption more effectively than common household beverages.
Using Pedialyte helps restore the body’s potassium, sodium and chloride minerals, also known as electrolytes. Pedialyte comes in many great flavors. Everyone’s individual tastes are different so it’s nice to have a variety like fruit punch, grape, apple or strawberry to choose from! I think Grape is my favorite! It has a nice sweet taste…but it’s not too sweet or overly so!
What do you think? Will you be adding it to your water bottle for your next workout? Which flavor would you like to try? Fruit punch, grape, apple or strawberry?
I am not sure about after a workout, but I would consider taking it after the flu. I always thought it was just for kids.
I had no idea that there was pedialite sticks! I could use something like this when I am done exercising! I will be looking for these now.
For working out, I like plain water. But I do love keeping Pedialyte in the house for when anyone gets sick.
The fruit punch flavor sounds yummy! I never thought about using it after a workout, but it makes sense! Thanks 🙂
Well, that’s interesting. I’ve never thought of adults using Pedialyte before. Great idea.
I have always had Pedialyte on hand for my boys in case they get sick–I never thought about taking it after a workout. Thanks for the tip.
I’ve always thought that Pedialyte are for kids. I think I would try this after a workout.
I never thought of using Pedialyte for myself to stay hydrated. It totally makes sense as i gave it to my daughter when she was a baby and still give it to my pets.
I never thought of using pedialyte after working out. I typically used to drink water or sports drinks.
I know how it feels to lose all those fluids after working out. So it is very important to re-hydrate. Thanks for the tips.
I remember using Pedialyte when my kid is having a diarrhea. This product is a big life-saver. Thanks for sharing!
I haven’t tried one of this but it does sounds really great way to keep hydrated. As long as it doesn’t taste bad, I’m all for it!
I have given them to my children after an illness but not a workout. Something new to try.
I never knew they had these Pedialyte sticks. I always thought all these were just for kids. That’s awesome! I’m going to have to check for them in stores the next time I go shopping.
I never used pedialyte after a workout before, I will have to give it a try. I’ve always used it when the kids were sick.
Great idea! I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be helpful after a workout, as it is with after a sickness. We stick to our own homemade electrolyte drinks, though!
That’s a great idea! And if you have little ones in the house, just keep a few extra around! Keeping yourself hydrated is one thing, but maintaining and replenishing those electrolytes- just as important!
I saw a recipe to make this. My kids are adults, but it is important to stay hydrated.
I didn’t know about the pedialyte sticks. I’ll be sure to give them a try after my next workout.
I never thought of this before! Thanks for sharing <3
Pedialyte does work!
It’s important to stay hydrated no matter what you’re doing. Kids, especially don’t want to stop to take a drink of water.
We always have Pedialyte at home in case of emergency. Sometimes they just expired because I but the liquid ones already. But it’s okay as long as I am ready when my kids need it. Soon I’ll just be getting the same brand but the powder form instead, for travelling purposes too. 🙂
We love Pedialyte. We normally just use it for sickness. I never thought to use it all the time.
Kids can dehydrate so quickly. When they are playing, or become ill. This is a good item to keep on hand.
I am also very familiar with Pedialyte from the long ago child raising days. I never considered it as an a workout hydrator. thanks for the tip.
I love that the kids like the flavor so you can get them to drink it eadily
I would never have thought of this. Sounds like a good idea.
Thank you for sharing. We always keep at least water with us after we take our walks.
I have never used this. I know it’s good to have on hand and is easy to make at home.
You really should drink fluids before exercise, and replenish during. Don’t get to the point of dehydration to begin with.
Kids can dehydrate very quickly. Especially when they’re ill.
Just drink water when you’re thirsty. Even while working out. Dehydration shouldn’t be an issue.
