My family loves cornbread. They could eat it with almost every meal. I’m not lying. I watched my teen eat it with spaghetti yesterday. LOL Want an easy cornbread recipe?
Why not try and make my easy cornbread recipe.
Easy Cornbread Ingredients>/h2>
Butter your cast iron skillet and warm in oven on 400*.
2 cups cornmeal
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1-2 TSP sugar
1 egg
1/1/4 cups buttermilk *I make mine by adding a tsp of vinegar to milk*
6 TBS butter melted
Mix dry ingredients first. Then separately mix wet ingredients (make sure butter is cool before adding the egg or you’ll cook the egg). Then mix together both. Take out hot skillet and add the cornbread batter ensuring it’s evenly distributed. Bake for 20 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Let the bread rest before cutting it into wedges and serving.
Now eat and enjoy with your favorite pot roast or chili! How do you eat your cornbread? Do you use a family cast iron skillet like I do or do you prefer it in muffin tins? I’d love to hear how you make your cornbead differently.
