My friend Cyndi went and checked out the for the blog this past weekend. She took her daughter and grandbaby with her. They had a blast. Well except for the fact that the almost 2 year old had no idea why all these men were in skirts. She looked at them very, very suspiciously. LOL We got some great pics of the many activities that went on this weekend at the Hermitage in Old Hickory, TN right off the lake in Nashville.
They started out listening to music that was good for the soul. They enjoyed the bagpipes and many other musicians at the MTHG that day. Check out the video of the Hope Vere Heritage Tours. They sound fantastic!
They checked out the many clans that were present at the You can walk around and find people who you might even be kin to by finding your clan.
They watched the old fashioned heavy games that were being played from the old days! They were really games of strength. It was an impressive site to see.
More great music and bagpipes!
And the Hope Vere Heritage Musicians.
We highly recommend that you go and check out the Middle Tennessee Highland Games the next time they come back to the Hermitage in Old Hickory Tennessee. It’s right outside the rolling hills of Nashville. Set on the plantation of the 7th president Mr. Andrew Jackson also known as Old Hickory. You can learn so much about him and his presidency and also check out the highland games at the same time! Hope we see you there next time!

Looks like a great time. I love listening to bag pipes. We have a festival similar to this in Colorado that we go to every year. It’s a great family day for us. Can’t beat seeing men in kilts!

The Middle Tennessee Highland Games sounds like a great event. It must have been so fun to listen to the music coming from a bagpipe. I wish there is something like this where I live.

My husband would love this event. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun to attend and to see. I love bagpipe music, we have seen it a couple times in Scotland and Ireland when we have been there.

This looks like a lot of fun! I would love to visit and take my family there. What a great way to learn history and spend the day with family. We need to take a trip and visit, this is on my to do list!

What a fun event that looks like! I love all cultural celebrations.. it’s the best way to immerse yourself in an experience that feels like a ‘mini-vacation’ from reality… and just to have fun. 😉 I haven’t been to a scottish-specific event, and would to have loved to check this out. Thanks for sharing so we could experience it vicariously!
