DIY Yarn Wrapped Wood Letters
School is almost back in session! So I’m trying to make the most out of the last little bit of time I have with my kids before they get back to school, after school sports, and everything else. One of my favorite things to do with my daughter is any kind of craft! And as some of you have seen before, she is very about customizing things in her room. Her walls are filled with paintings, picture frames, and more! So this week we decided to head to the craft store and see what we could come up with! We found a bunch of wood letters on sale and decided to make some fun DIY Yarn Wrapped Letters to put on her wall! I love crafts that are cheap, fun, and easy enough for kids to do all by themselves, and that’s exactly what this craft is! You only need a few things and about 15 minutes of your time to make it too! Let’s check it out!
Here is how you make these DIY Yarn Wrapped Wood Letters:
You Will Need:
- Wood letters
- glue
- 2 colors of yarn
- scissors
Step 1: First you will pick your yarn colors! We decided to go with pink and brown. You could pick any color combination you want!
Step 2: Starting with 1 yarn color on the back of the letter glue down your yarn and begin wrapping your yarn around your letter. If you are using 2 colors, you will want to switch your colors up about every 1/2″ or so.
Step 3: Continue to wrap your yarn (make sure you wrap tight so it doesn’t come loose) and glue as you go.
Step 4: Hang it up on your wall and enjoy! My daughter loved being able to make this craft herself and while it might not be perfect, it’s perfect for her, and I bet your kids would love to make one too!
