DIY Upcycled Pringles Can Grocery Bag Holder

pringles can upcycle

If there is one type of craft I love above all others, it’s a craft that I can make out of things I would have otherwise thrown away. My daughter loves pringles, so we always have them in my house, which means we always have empty cans. I don’t throw them away because I just knew I could find a use for them that didn’t include taking up space in a landfill. Well you guys, I think I came up with a pretty cool use for them. I don’t know about you, but I’m a grocery bag hoarder. We use them for lunches, cat litter, and all kinds of other things. Before this craft I just shoved them under the sink. So that’s why I cam up with these DIY Upcycled Pringles Can Grocery Bag Holders! Not only does it make storing bags easier, but It’s pretty enough to keep out on your counter and not try to hide them under the sink. Win Win if you ask me!

Here is how to make these DIY Upcycled Pringles Can Grocery Bag Holders:

pringles can bag holder

You Will Need:

  • Pringles Cans
  • Masking Tape (other tape would work just as well I imagine, this is just what we already had on hand, ha!)
  • Pretty Paper. (Like scrapbooking paper!)
  • Scissors

Step 1: Cut your paper to the size of your pringles can. Wrap your paper around your pringles can and secure with your tape on the backside of the can. I would suggest one piece of tape for the top, bottom, and middle.

Step 2: Cut a square shaped hole in the top of the pringles can. The easiest way to do this is with an exacto knife, but if you don’t have one, simply fold your top in half and cut with scissors.

Step 3: Stuff your grocery bags into your pringles can. (You will be amazed by how many will fit!) and push the top bag through the hole. Secure the top to the pringles can.

    Dina,
    Great idea.
You can also use left over contact paper (which I have from lining shoe boxes for storing things in my bathroom).

    Hi Dina!
What at great and practical idea! I wanted to ask how do you weigh them done so that they would not slip/ move around. Also, how do you make the bags come out one by one sort of like tissue paper?
    Look forward to your reply!

I don’t weight them down. I do put them in one at a time with the handles up top. Plus you can always just take the lid off if you need too. 🙂 Hope that helps some!

Ha! I use Pringles cans for tons of things!!! I havent tried this as the cans are kinda slim, but this would work well say in the car. I mean sometimes you go somewhere, you need a trash bag and you have one, or heaven forbid, someone or a pet makes a mess, it would be someplace to put wet things in you would have a bag.
