Homemade Pizza Pocket Recipe

homemade pizza pockets

This summer I’m making it a goal to learn how to make more things homemade rather than running to the freezer or a fast food restaurant. One of my daughters (and ok ok..mine too) favorite foods is pizza! We love take out pizza, make at home pizza, pizza rolls, and pizza pockets! The bad thing about store bought pizza pockets is that that can be expensive, made with questionable ingredients, and let’s not forget the molten lava that forms when you put those things in the microwave right?

Well I have solved all those problems with my homemade pizza pocket recipe! This recipe is super easy, cheap, and yummy. The kids could even make it for themselves if they wanted. Would you like to learn how to make it? Let’s check out the recipe!

Here is how to make my Homemade Pizza Pocket Recipe:

You Will Need:

  • 1 tube crescent rolls
  • sliced pepperoni
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • pizza sauce

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Roll your crescent roll dough out and create 4 rectangles.

Next, it’s time to make your pizza! Laddle on about a tbsp of sauce and spread it. Then your cheese, and then your pepperoni. You could also use any other type of pizza topping your would like! We just like to keep it simple, ha!

Then, fold your pizza pockets over and use a fork to crimp the edges together to create your pocket. Poke a few holes with your fork on top of the pockets to allow air in while the cook so they don’t explode.  Pop them in the oven and let them cook for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool and enjoy!

This has quickly become one of our favorite lunch recipes due to it’s yum factor and how easy it is to make. I’m sure your family will love it too! Before you go be sure to follow me on pinterest, facebook and instagram to see more yummy recipes and crafts. I hope to see you over there!

What a great meal! I’ve done this before with frozen bread, but I haven’t tried it with crescent roll dough before.

Do these freeze and reheat well? How would you recommend reheating from frozen?

Pepperidge Farms used to make a frozen pizza on a croissant type dough. It was my favorite ! the flaky dough. I can’t wait to try these.

Question . . . what do you mean by “pop them in the oven”?

Also, have you done this with anything else, such as to make something along the lines of “hot pockets”?
