What? You don’t believe me and Kev are BFF’s? Pssshhhh! Of course we are!
I just got off a whirlwind trip of a lifetime. I still can’t believe I went on it. Pinch me! I’ve never been West of Missouri. That’s as far west as I’ve been. So to get to go to LA was a huge rush! Here’s some fun pics of my trip! Speaking of rush check out the traffic!
I live in a small town. Such a small town that I never have to deal with this kind of traffic. Oh, we have traffic but it’s mostly by the mall! haha!
Here’s our hotel. It was such a great place to sleep at night. That’s about the only time we saw it! We were super busy! On the first day we watched McFarland USA. It was amazing. Such a great film with a good family message…you must see it! Then back to the hotel. The next morning we had a bit of time to kill so my trip bff Becky and I walked over to the Citywalk.
Citywalk was a very short walk away. We had a blast there and had some lunch at Johnny Rockets! My first time eating there. It was pretty good! Then we headed out to our first media event with Big Hero 6. Here we are heading to the W Hotel in downtown LA.
This is me and my trip BFF Becky who blogs over at Mom of 4 Boys. Not to be confused with my other bff Kev. 🙂 We had a blast together! The W Hotel is close to the Walk of Fame! So here’s my great pic of it from the bus…don’t judge the blur, I’m on a bus remember!
And the W Hotel was also close to Hollywood and Vine!
I bet you’re wondering what the W Hotel looked like. Well it looked like it desperately needed a makeover! LOL It had mirrors everywhere and red carpet. Straight out of the 1980’s so it could have been made over.
Well I thought I took a pic. I’ll have to post it later when I find it or maybe Becky will share hers! Here’s Becky’s pic!
So that’s my first two days in LA. The fun was still to be had. I had yet to interview Kev, Ginnifer or all the great actors and directors. Stay tuned tomorrow for my Fresh Off The Boat post!
“McFarland, USA” releases February 20, 2015.

Lucky you. We have to leave early to get to work just because of traffic.
My hubby does too. He works in a bigger city. I do love my small town. 🙂

My daughter has been sent on a few of these things in California. She always enjoys them.I would be so nervous. Do they give you a list of questions to ask?
Wow, it looks like you had an amazing time. The traffic is just unbelievable, I don’t know that I would have the patience to sit in that every day to go to work. Can’t wait to read your Fresh Off the Boat post!

He is one of my favorite actors. You are so lucky. Thanks for sharing.

You are so lucky to be able to go to Hollywood.
This sounded like so much fun.
Talk about whirlwind. I think my brain would explode!
I bet that was so much fun !!
Hollywood is fun to visit, but the LA traffic is horrendous!
The traffic is terrible there.I haven’t seen one of his movies in a while. I’ll have to see it.
I can’t wait to read the follow up on this wonderful trip. Hope you really had a good time. I am sure you did
I’ve heard stories about the traffic in the LA area and I do not envy you driving in that mess! Still looks like a fun trip!!
It’s look like had fun
Not many of us can say we got to interview Kevin Costner! Lucky you!
It really seems like you and your bff, Becky, had a terrific time! I’ve never been to Hollywood either! I’ve seen traffic like that before but in Philadelphia, not in the “burbs” where we live! I loved all the pictures you shared as well! Looks like you 2 had a blast! I would love to go away with a friend to somewhere I’ve never been! AS IF! Thanks for sharing your “fun” in Hollywood and all your pictures! I enjoyed reading it and checking out the pics! Thanks so much, Michele 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
What? I thought Kevin was mine…
Glad you’re having fun on your whirlwind tour of my city! You’ve already seem some of its tourist attractions – but try not to leave without a drive along Mulholland Drive, for some spectacular views of the city!
What an exciting trip. Kevin sounds fantastic, and is as nice as he seems to be.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m glad you had a great time. Nice pictures. The hotel doesn’t look that bad. Still pretty even if it’s a little outdated. 🙂
sounds like a blast
The hotel lobby looks beautiful. I would love to stay there and walk through through the many shops in the area. Thank you for sharing
I used to work with a guy that closely resembled Kevin Costner. He probably thought I was strange. For the longest time, I’d just look at him. I knew he reminded me of someone but I couldn’t place the name. Finally, it came to me and I blurted it out.
I’m so jealous of your whole trip, and meeting kevin costner
How was the food? I always want to hear what people eat on dream trips like this.
Looks like a wonderful trip! I have never been to Hollywood but I would love to go!
Looks like an amazing trip so far!!! Great location for the hotel too, right in the middle of all the excitement!!!
No fair. I would have loved to go. Kevin is a good actor
It sounds like you guys had so much fun. I hate the traffic in L.A. The best thing there is Disneyland.Thats where Ive been.Ive never been to Hollywood or the Walk of Fame.I love Kevin Costner! I want to see that movie just to see him. Id be so star struck and drool all over myself. LOL!!
It sounds like you had a great time, congrats on getting to interview Kevin Costner. Thank you for sharing this post.
I would have been so nervous!! I’m glad you had a great time. Looked like an awesome trip.
I have been to hollywood many years ago and I can’t say that I was too impressed. Glad you had a good time.
California is a nice place to visit. I wasn’t too impressed with Hollywood Blvd. It wasn’t what I expected. I’d like to go back when I have more time to spend.
How lucky are you? A trip of a lifetime! From what I understand, Kevin Costner is as nice a person as he is a great actor! (And easy on the eyes too! lol)
Great!!!
WOW!!! You are very lucky. Bet you have a great time.
I would love to have a trip like this. I am so happy for you. Thank you for sharing.
What a fun trip. I have not done any traveling, but this looks fun.
I sure hope the weather and the temperature was great for you. Let your hair down and enjoy
I wonder what the actors think when they go for an interview and see a mommy blogger. They’re probably used to it by now, I suppose.
My daughter’s entire cross country team is going to see this in two weeks. Then out for pizza to talk about it. She is so looking forward to it.
Wow, it really looks and sounds like you had a great time. I’m in a small town myself. I don’t mind traffic in “the big city”..which for me would be Cleveland, as long as I’m not the driver.
I bet that was a lot fun<3
Looks like you had a great time!!
looks like fun
I have always wanted to go to Hollywood, heck even Cali for that matter.
I hope you had a wonderful and got to see as much as you could while there. Thank you for sharing
Sounds you had a lot of fun. You are so lucky.
Was the food any good? Odd question, I always wonder though. When my husband goes to lunch at work I ask him the same question.
How fun!!!!! The trip of a lifetime I’m sure. Savor the memories. Go big or go home, right?!
That is so exciting! I couldn’t imagine how nervous I’d be to interview a big Hollywood star like that!
You lucky girl. He is one of my favorite actors. Thanks for sharing.

Once in a lifetime kinda thing huh. Hope you had a good time.

On the actual interview page, there is no comment section. I’m putting it here to claim my entry for the day. I hope that’s okay. For two days, I’ve checked and there was no comment area. Anyways, he seems like a nice, down to earth guy. I would have been so nervous, I’d probably forget the questions. You kept your cool and did a great job!
