I was provided $25 by our sponsor Ebates to purchase a backpack and school supplies. I was not compensated in any other way for this post. #givingbackpack #ebates

giving back backpack donations

When kids start back to school it’s a fun time for most children. But for others it’s beyond stressful. For the stressed ones it could be as simple as their parents can’t afford to purchase all the school supplies that is needed. That is such a shame too. It’s not too much to purchase a few extra inexpensive backpacks and school supply items and donate them if you can. I’ve done it for the last three years and I never meet the child that gets the backpack. I’m just happy to donate them. When I taught school there were children who would transfer in during the middle of the school year and not have the items they need. A lot of times these were children whose parents were fleeing the other parent. Domestic Violence is real and happening. These children don’t want to have to think about where they are going to get their school supplies. They just want to go to school and get some normalcy back.  Won’t you think about donating to a child in need? It’s never to late. Don’t know where to donate just take it to the local school in your neighborhood. There’s always someone needing a hand up!

You can donate and shop the sales to save you money. You can also shop through ebates to earn cash back. I tend to watch the sales and shop for my kids as well as the donated items. I got a lot of these at a big name pharmacy and a big box store by watching their sales. That made my dollars go further.

Here’s what I was able to purchase for $34.20 before tax.

3 backpacks on sale for $2.50 at Walgreens

3 pairs of scissors @ .69

3 packets of pencils @.99

6 folders @ .99

3 spiral notebooks @.19/each

3 colored pencils @ 1.49 ea

3 eraser packs @.49

3 glue packs @.49/ea

3 pencil boxes @.89

3 sets of markers @ 1.49 ea
