I’m not sure how much food we as a family waste but I bet it’s alot. I don’t mean to waste it nor do I want to waste it. Last night we ate a dinner of mostly raw veggies because I knew if we didn’t most of that yummy food would go to waste. Food waste is being researched. Every year 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted. What? Let that sink in. That’s a lot of wasted food. Future Food 2050 is working on finding new innovative ways for us to not waste as much food. With the projection of our population to be 9 billion people by 2050 this is a food intiative that needs to be thought out and acted upon. How are we going to keep 9 billion people fed? It’s my personal belief that we will end up farming more now as households. I garden in the summer and am planning on planting a winter garden this year too. We have to do what we can to help feed those that are in our own families. What if the grocery stores couldn’t keep up? It’s something to think about!
