4th of July food to take to a party

Food to make and take to a July 4th party

Are you attending a 4th of July party this year? If so, and if you’ve been asked to bring along a dish, try out one of these for an easy take-along side or dessert that will be sure to make an impression.

Super Simple Baked Beans

Ingredients:

2 cans of pork and beans
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons of brown sugar
4 teaspoons of mustard
dash of sea salt
dash of ground black pepper
5 bacon strips

Mix all ingredients together, expect the bacon, until well blended. Place in a baking dish and top with bacon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes. Remove bacon, dice it, add it to the beans, and stir well.

Patriotic Fruit Dessert

Everyone makes something like this each year, but this is a little different.

Ingredients:

1 pie crust
Graham crackers, crushed
1 pound strawberries
1 pound blueberries
1 tub of whipped cream

Place the pie crust in the bottom of a large punch bowl. Layer in strawberries, a layer of whipped cream, layer of blueberries, whipped cream, graham crackers, and whipped cream. Do this twice until you end with whipped cream. Embellish the top with a few berries and some graham cracker crumbs.

Fruit Punch For All

Ingredients:

1 can frozen apple juice
1 can frozen cranberry juice
1 can frozen pomegranate juice
2 limes
2 lemons
2 oranges
3 cups water
2 cups white grape juice

Mix all ingredients in a blender, except the fruit. Slice it and place it in the mixture once well blended. You can take this along and add alcohol or serve it as is for everyone to enjoy.

Easy and Spicy Potato Salad

Ingredients:

10 russet red potatoes, sliced
Diced onions, 2 tablespoons
Diced celery, 2 tablespoons
4 teaspoons sweet relish
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
dash of sea salt
dash of ground black pepper

Cook the potatoes in the microwave for 5 minutes. Once done, mix all ingredients in a bowl, then place in a frying pan and cook on low for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
