Outnumber Hunger

Outnumber Hunger has helped Feeding America feed over 25 million meals in less than three years.  The only way to make sure we outnumber hunger is to find great companies to help us in feeding the hungry.

Country music stars got together to help Outnumber Hunger by holding a concert. Eli Young Band, The Band Perry, Brantley Gilbert and even Florida Georgia Line were all there to participate with General Mills and helping to Outnumber Hunger. You can see the concert on youtube. Watch the hourlong show in the youtube video below.

One in every six Americans is currently battling hunger. It’s a sad reality for over 13 million families who are hungry year round. I’m very thankful that in our area our schools stay open in the summer to feed the children breakfast and lunch for those who need it. At least they can be fed 2 meals per day during summer too.

I’m thankful that Outnumber Hunger, Feeding America and Big Machine Label Group are there working to help families not go hungry! Make sure you pick up the cd that goes with the video that just played.

It’s sad that there are so many people in our communities that do not have enough food to eat. 1 in 6 Americans is just too many!

I’m so proud that large celebrity names are taking on such a good cause! This one hits close to Home with me – my grandmother often went hungry as a child.

I never knew how bad it was (hunger) until I had a school teacher friend of mine tell me that she has kids at the school that only eat breakfast and lunch because they get the food for free … No dinner at home due to lack of funds…

It’s a shame to know that so many people are hungry, right here in our own country. Yet so much aid is given to other countries…

I’ll definitely check out this CD. I think it’s so important to support our local food bank and I do volunteer there when given the chance (and I donate food to them.)

I am a President of a large food pantry. We serve 800/month and I have over 100 volunteers. Food insecurity breaks my heart and it is so important. 1 in 5 children do not know where their next meal is coming from and it gets worse in the summer months when they do not have access to NSLP and NSBP.

I think that is one thing that people shouldnt have to suffer over is food. That subject always breaks my heart a bit. I am so happy that organizations such as OutNumber Hunger is doing something about this epidemic and has fed over 25 million people in over 3 years. Thats amazing thanks for sharing!

I think it’s awesome that your school stays open to feed the kids. We live in a very poor area, and I think in the summer – if it weren’t for the Vacation Bible School programs, some of the kids would be hungry at night. That makes me sad. I love it that there are programs in place like this Outnumber Hunger!

One in six is far too large a number 🙁 General Mills has been active in fighting hunger for quite some time and their work is admirable.

It’s soo sad that so many in our country go hungry – but I’ve been there up close and personally, and when it comes to paying rent or heat vs buying groceries – a lot of people don’t have a choice. I love that Outnumber Hunger and many other groups are raising money (and awareness) for such an important cause!
