He’s been an automotive technician for years. We are gaining in the aging department, ahem in our 40’s there I said it, and it’s getting harder to get into those weird positions when you are working on cars. I can’t wait for him to start his new job. He will be bringing home his tool box and almost all his tools. He’s planning on selling the battery operated expensive tools. He will also be selling his adjustable garage workbench because he just won’t need it anymore. He’s so relieved.
His new job will be that as dispatcher and Assistant Service Manager. He has been diagnosed in the last 2 years with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He’s so going to enjoy not having to get into weird positions like he does working on cars and hurting his already hurting body. He’ll be desk jockeying which will be so much nicer on his joints. He’s relieved and so am I. It’s been a long time coming. When you’re young you don’t think about the things that can happen as you get older. But getting older is a part of living and at some point things that were easy for you will become harder. Aging gracefully is a oxymoron, I do believe. When you age you hurt. It’s not horrible and it definitely beats the alternative. So prayers for a smooth transition and him to love his new position and selling all his tools! He’s ready. Let’s do this!
