Throwback to the old Big G cereals
Big G cereals (General Mills) are doing a throwback to the earlier years. 5 of their cereals have designed their boxes to appear they are from the 80’s and 90’s. Just looking at them brought back so many memories. Check out their limited edition boxes and grab some for your family to eat for breakfast. You can find these at your local Target. Relive your youth and talk about things you did back in the day!
My kids love to eat cereal for breakfast. We usually hold off on the sugary ones for eating on the weekend. My kids love cheerios and were happily chomping away on these for breakfast this morning. I’m making cheerios bars for them for snack this afternoon. Check out my recipe and pictures below. There’s nothing better than peanut butter, oats, cheerios and chocolate chips! No high fructose corn syrup in my no bake cheerios granola bars either.
No Bake Cheerios Granola Bars
- 1/2 c honey
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1/2 c peanut butter
- 1/2 c peanuts
- 2 c cheerios (I used a mix of honey nut and plain)
- 2 c rolled oats
- 1/4 c chocolate chips
- In a large pan cook brown sugar and honey until boiling. Stir in peanut butter and remove from heat. Add cereal, oats and peanuts and stir well. Spray 9x13 pan and pour into pan and then press down (I used saran wrap to press down). Add chocolate chips to the top and press them in. Let cool and then cut into 12 bars. Eat and enjoy.
- My family fought over these bars. This will be your go to recipe for granola bars!
You can find these cereals with the retro boxes at Target. There are also some Big G coupons for you to print out for the cereals. These cereals that we all know and love have been around since as early as 1945.
Disclosure: The information and free cereal have been provided by General Mills through Platefull Co-Op.

Now I want some Peanut Butter Puffs. I am going to make these granola bars. I don’t have a kitchen right now but I have a side burner on my outdoor grill and I can make them on that. This recipe will come in handy until I get my oven back.
