New Year’s Resolutions or Declarations?

New Year's Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions

Whether you make resolutions, declarations or intentions we all have things we can work on. Why not declare them and make them declarations to be held accountable to through out the year. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Here’s my things to work on and make stick for the New Year.

Get organized and stay that way. I have so much paperwork looking over 15 houses that are not my own. I’m drowning in it. My goal is to get it organized into my desk so I can quickly and easily lay my hands on whatever I need.

Try as hard as possible to not buy anything new. If the kids need socks, shoes or underwear I’m going to buy those new. But anything else I’m going to try to get 2nd hand. I’m also going to try to shop less. I need nothing and have too much as it is.

Close facebook more and engage with real people. Real people are so much more fun then the ones that live in my computer, uh… no offense. 🙂

Take advantage of the one in one out philosophy. I’ve been in my house for 15 years now. I need nothing so if I bring something new in then something needs to go.

Organize my home and get the maximum amount of enjoyment out of it. I think I’ll go back and reread flylady and try adopting some of her philosophies again.

Read one book a week, any book of my choosing. I have let reading go as the blogging took off. It’s time to take time for me.

Increase my workouts from 3/week with my girlfriends to 4-6 per week and get this body more toned.

Increase my water intake daily. I currently drink 3 glasses per day if I’m lucky. I’d like to increase this to 6.

I normally make a weight loss goal but if I do the above then that should take care of it!

Eat at home more and out less. We are a family of 5 so our eating out has been reduced but it can always go down more. We want to travel more so I’m thinking every time we want to eat out and don’t we need to put that money in a travel jar.

Work on my blog from 8-2 while the kids are in school and not when they are home. I need to focus on them when they are here.  Balance in my life is key and what I’m going for this year.

Check my phone for no more then 5 minutes per hour. I’m on that thing way too much! Maybe I should switch back to a regular phone where I’m not able to check it. I mean really what is going to happen if I’m not on my email and facebook and do I really care? No!

Work on SEO for the blog and making all my links no follow from this point forward!

Recycle more and get my garbage output less! I currently use 5 bags a week. I’d love to cut it back to 4, recycling more and making myself a composter is a good thing. My garden would appreciate a composter. I’m not sure my hubby will though because he’ll have to build it and then I’ll have to keep the dogs out of it. Something to work towards though. That’s what New Year’s Resolutions are all about isn’t it?

Grow a bigger garden.

My New Year’s Resolutions are something good for me to work toward.
