I received tickets to Despicable Me 2 to facilitate writing this review. It did not affect my opinion of the movie.
Despicable Me 2 Review
My children and I went to see Despicable Me 2 Review yesterday as a prescreening to the movie. As an adoptive mom I love it when they delve into the subject of adoptions. The first Despicable Me did such a great job. I boohoo’d as only a mom can through this movie. With the second one I teared up but no boohooing like last time. The thing that gave me the warm fuzzys this time is one of the characters leaves. He gets a better offer and just takes off. What he finds out is that your family is your family. My children and I talked about how a family is made doesn’t necessarily involve blood relatives. Some of my favorite people who I love to spend time with are not related to me. They are my family. They are there for me through good times and bad. Believe me I’ve had a lot of bad times lately.
Despicable Me 2 or just the movie can spark some great dialogue with your kids.
Now let’s get back to the facts of the movie. This movie is clean in that is has no bad words or nudity. The dialogue is funny and witty. The minions are so sweet and adorable. I love their own little language that they have. They make me giggle when they are talking to each other. Gru is a big teddy bear who tries so hard to be a good guy. The avl (anti-villian league) asks Gru (Steve Carell) to join them and fight the bad guys. You can only imagine the hilarity that ensues as his new partner is a woman (Kristin Wiig). These two have great comedic chemistry in this movie. The girls Agnes, Edith and Margo have their own small adventures at the mall. Oh dear, we have a teenager to be in this movie. Let’s just say they are at the mall and a boy is scoped out! A cutie. That makes Gru a touch cray cray as my daughter would say.
We dearly loved this movie. It is sweet, touching, endearing and yes, even funny. It’s a movie I will want to own and I don’t say that about many movies. So take your family and go see it when it comes out on July 3. Enjoy and enjoy a trailer of the movie below! Oh and be sure to stay til the end. There’s some great effects at the end of the movie! Keep watching!
