My husband and I have. A lot. We are putting away our 6% and have been for years. I love the idea of retiring to Florida and getting away from the cold weather. I’ve looked and have considered Jacksonville but I’ve also considered my stomping ground of Perdido Key. I just want to retire to warmer weather and sand between my toes!
But then you have to think our life is here. It’s where we live now. My son, a sophomore in high school doesn’t want to move away for college. What are the chances I could get my kids and grandbabies (whenever they come) to move to Florida for sun and sand between their toes too? Family is what life is all about. I would like to think I could move and leave it all behind but it’s doubtful I actually could. I would miss them too much and want to be close to those grandchildren (which I’m not even close to having yet).
What do you think about retiring? Are you planning today and putting money away for it now? It will be here before we know it and we are expected to live longer then ever before. Plan and be prepared for your retirement!

We put 6% into our 401K also, & have some stocks. Now we are working on paying off all of our debt to possibly retire early. I should say hubby. I stay at home & have twins with special needs. Hubby would like to retire to Hawaii–my boys were born there, but it depends on services we can get for them.
