I try to eat good. I try to get my family to eat well too. I even go so far as to eat meatless a few times a week. Even though I have been able to go meatless a few times a week I can’t get as good as the Vegetarian. I want to be a vegetarian but I like to eat meat too much! I need to read this book! He could help me be a better vegetarian!

About Our Sponsor

Written by a passionate vegetarian, Jim Tilberry, “Revenge of the Vegetarian” is an amusing, irreverent, and often hilarious book that covers a range of topics about vegetarianism and the meat-eating culture. The author has his tongue firmly planted in cheek, while taking humorous jabs at a variety of easy targets. Get a silly lesson on how to deal with meat eaters in social situations. “Revenge” pokes fun at vegetarians, vegans, liberals and conservatives. But it pokes the most fun at meat eaters. This short entertaining book is ideal for any vegetarian or vegetarian wannabe with a sense of humor. Some adult language. Not appropriate for children.

Jim Tilberry is a thin vegetarian living in Chicago, the city of big shoulders and even bigger waistlines. He has lived a meatless life since 1998 when he was visited by a pig in a dream asking him to give up bacon, ham and all other meat. Knowing that pigs are very intelligent he never questioned the request.

Read a great review of the book by Pittsburgh Frugal Mom.

I do think this would be a book that I would like to read…as a vegetarian in a non veg household, I’d like to give these guys a sense of humor about it all, instead of always poking fun at me 🙂 !

  4. Leslie O'Donnell says:

I’m not a vegetarian, and neither is anyone in my household. I found out that I CAN’T be, because I’m allergic to too many other sources of protein, and relying on suppliments alone is….well, they are SUPPLIMENTS for a reason. My husband isn’t because he, as the non-disabled member of the household, does most of the cooking, and it’s simpler to make meals that support all of our dietary needs at once. My son isn’t because he’s seven, and it’s challenging enough at this point to get him to eat a balanced diet. All the same, it’s a book I’d be interested in reading — first for the inevitable good ideas inside, which I can still put into play since I’m not a pure carnivore either, and secondly to then pass it on to a friend who IS a vegetarian in an omnivorous household.

  5. Amber Warfield says:

This book would be right up my alley and I would share it with my vegan friend when I’m done. I’m a part time vegetarian who at the least eats meat that was raised humanely. I also have a flock of 15 chickens who live, what I call, the high life in the Hilton, compared to other chickens ; ]
